RD Paul Wares Cowl

Ordered a full rd 89 suit from Paul coming up on 9 months or so. got the suit including the chest piece, legs as well as the arm and leg guards with the promise of the cowl to follow within a week or so right around october. i email and facebook him often to get updates but he has stopped responding to me. when he did respond he tell me just another week or so..but im getting worried if im ever going to get the cowl. i know that issues come up but i think ive been fairly patient. but now im getting upset for the lack of communication and not having the cowl itself. anyone have any ideas of whats going on with him?

Hey Bailey, sorry mate, John has just alerted me to this.

I've just found your email in my spam folder. I had to increase my junk mail filters because of spam I've been getting from BOTB members - Ed and I had a conversation about this only at the weekend.

I'll reply now mate.

It's still a misnomer as it is still a recast. I wish the term would go away in favor for "recast of screen used piece/porduction piece".

Well i have heard on a few occasion the two of these:

RD/Real Deal: Being an item that was casted from the same moulds as used on the screen used items.

RDC/Real Deal Casted: Being a cast of a screen used item from a third party mould of a real deal or screen used cast.

This has been discussed at length many times. Bottom line, this term was coined by Janty Chattaw in an attempt to say his items were cast in a mold made from a screen used or production made piece. The truth is they weren't. At best he got a hold of some such pieces, recast them, "body shopped" them then remolded them. It's a "made up" term. I fully agree with what Jimity stated. The term RD or "Real Deal" should be stricken from use completely. Anyone using it is outright lieing. The best you can achieve in the prop world is a recast of a real piece (screen used and production made are the exception but then they would be called screen used or production made anyway, not RD.)
