I guess we'll just have to sit back and see what happens. I don't know when this article came out but last I heard Afleck was just stepping back from directing it. I guess that could have changed, I really don't keep tabs on that stuff. All of that said however I really don't see why Gary Oldman's opinion has any bearing or is of any concern. He's simply the actor who played Commissioner Gordan in the last trilogy and quite a few other roles. His opinion on this matter is really of no consequence. Personally, I think Afleck did a good job (so far, I haven't seen JL yet)but it depends on where they want to go with the next film (if there's even one coming at this point). If they want, say, a younger Batman then Afleck wouldn't fit the bill. At the end of the day, it's really the script and story that will make or break the film. Clooney, for example fit almost all of the prerequisites to really pull off both the Batman and Bruce Wayne characters but all the neon, puns, and all around bad story killed the franchise in 1997.

It doesn't matter.
At first people will hate whatever decision they make, then after awhile they'll get used to it, and then we'll have the next actor who will play Batman.
