Re: Favorite batsuit (POLL)

this is harder than it looks.

1.Begins
2.89 suit
3.Panther (This will be my first suit, as This is the First Bat movie I saw at the cinema)

4.Alex ross Batman (Echo 6 reminded me aboutthis one)

5.Returns
6.Clooney
7.dead end
8.Sonar
9.Ice suit
10.Adam West suit

and the Batgirl suit from B&R gets a nod too :wink

Re: Favorite batsuit (POLL)

You know what I'm thinking...

It's all a matter of age.

Now, when it comes to the Star Wars films... I FAAAAAAAAAAR prefer the originals, over the new sh*t. The originals were from my childhood and were there as I was growing up. They're part of me. I think this viewpoint goes the same way with the new generation of Star Wars fans. Not a lot of kids are gonna' appreciate the originals because of many reasons.

I really pretty much hate all the Batman films that've been made, all except for Begins. These are the films I'm talking about here... not the suits. Filmwise, I think all the first four films sucked. Although Batman Begins wasn't exactly the Batman we know from the comics, it was the best all around film of any of them. And I don't think that anyone here will disagree with that.

A large majority of all the new members here are all nearer to the age of twenty, than those who are not. The original Batman film with Keaton is the lasting one with the older guys, as Begins is with the newer crowd.

I may be wrong with this, but we've all noticed a surge of new people who are under thirty. Their tastes suit their age group. The demand is currently for the Begins style. It's new, it screams technology and it came from a far better film than it's predecessors.

Only due to seeing David's updates on his chest piece and seeing it finished off, can I appreciate the new suit. I'll always hate the cowl from the new film because of the thicker than normal neck, but I do like the simplicity of the rest of the suit. The legs are smooth and the boots are featureless. The only reason I can still see using a wetsuit in the films for the body, is because it provides "bulk" that is sometimes lost on the wrong actor or wearer.

I really think I'm coming to appreciate the original Batman suit...

The comic style.

Sure Bruce would need armor, but that can be done without all the ridges and valleys that are in the new suit as well as is in the musculature of the '89 version. Why not make a simple chest of armor, that conforms to the exact shape of the person who's wearing it?

Bruce Wayne would...

Now, I'm not saying that I prefer the Adam West style... nobody could look good in that wretched cowl and costume, but the Alex Ross version is where I think it's really at. The War on Crime costume is what I see as the "Holy Grail" of what Batman is supposed to be.

Of course in order to wear that, you'd HAVE TO be built like a brick sh*t-house. Which is why Keaton wore muscular armor, as do most of us who desire the look without the time spent in the gym. The thicker wetsuits do have their advantage over spandex... for looks anyway, not for their comfort.

Just my opinion.

Thanksa GA.

Actually I see every rendition that Alex Ross does, for each and every Superhero, as the Bible.

That one Justice League pose that he did, that we've all seen and someone here even has it in their signature, always kinda' takes my breath away when I see it. Then it quickly makes me sad when we've never really seen that anywhere else except in comics. Although the Superman costume was done pretty well when Christopher Reeve wore it in the first film and follows Ross's perspective.

Has anyone done a comic style wetsuit yet? Paul's gray muscle suit looks just beautiful and as close as you can get... I think.

Hmmmmmmmmm...

I'll echo your sentiments E6. As for a comic style wetsuit...what do you mean exactly?

Tim,

What I was wondering, was if there was a comic version of Batman done where instead of spandex or a form fitting bodysuit, that a .5mm wetsuit was used instead.

Wetsuits "bulk" people up and can act like a girdle for the love handles that most guys can get. The smooth lines and extra bulk, would work well if other areas of it were padded to give muscle mass... Much the way that the Spiderman costumes were done for Tobey Maguire.

Instead of doing an overly-muscled Batman, I think that a "defined" wetsuit would be a great comic version for a Batman suit.

A suit similar to this, but without this exact cowl, gloves, belt, etc.

I think, if done right, this would be a great base for a comic version Batman.

Whudyouthink?

Oh... This is that lineup I was talking about. It's TheRealKryptonian's signature.

Sorry, man... I robbed it from your link to show what I was talking about...

Ah...gotcha E6. That wouldn't be a bad look at all providing the padding was done correctly. I've been looking into a material suit myself (neither wetsuit nor spandex), and also considering some padding in the correct areas. If I come up with anything spectacular you guys will be the first to know.
