Re: Fitness page

Is there some way we can poll this?

I know there are more "professional" sites that offer specific help and advice, but they are not PERSONAL. We here - we care for eachother and want to motivate eachother toward a similar goal.

It just doesnt work the same if we have some cyber-trainer to tell us to get off our bat-bums and quit eating Doritos (restricted copyright trademark). :dancing

Count me in, I would love a fitness section!
if not we can start a thread about it & have it stuck to the top of the off topic section so we can have an ongoing conversation about fitness.

Anyone use Muscle Milk? It's good stuff lots of flavors.

I use milk/egg protein through the day for that slow release. Whey protein for the ready steady go stuff straight after a workout and first thing in the morning. You can make your own or be lazy and buy pro-lab or a less well known brand. Just read what your drinking first, allways read the label. :doh

Re: Fitness page

I am currently using ON 100% Whey.

But a major thing to note. Just because the label says Whey protein does not mean there isn't OTHER types of Protein like Casein, etc. in there. All protein is good protein!

Good idea about the fitness page, I have been training for years so have a few routines for beginners through to advanced that I'd be more than happy to post if demand is there :batman

Re: Fitness page

sounds like a good idea...

I was the fat kid growing up until I was 15, and started running a mile every morning.
Was in Marine Corps Junior ROTC and impressed my instructors to make me a 1st Lieutenant by the time I got out since my Knowledge & leaderships skills were now rounded out with a healthy physique.

for my 17th birthday got one of the greatest B-day gifts ever... a Weight set... That fall I came back for my senior year totally Stacked... with (As my friend tyler calls it) the superhero chest...

since then kept in shape, although myfirst year in college kinda slowed me down... Didn't keep up w/ my workouts much after my halloween as the Punisher... But I'm back on the horse again
Cardio in the morning and strenth training in the afternoon.
Breakfast is a Fruits & Whey Protein shake... with an egg tossed in

the rest of the day is high protein & high fiber, plenty of water, and another egg after strength training...

despite being only 5'8", most of my friends would describe me as a "Big" guy...
which for my costuming purposes, works out fine... :toocool

Re: Fitness page

See what i mean, i love hearing storys like that it inspires me to bust my but in the gym. A fitness page would be a great motivating tool. strength is a mind and body thing, as someone once said "hes trained his body and mind to combat crime". And being 100 kg of Muscle cant hurt can it. Evil people prey on the weak, so im just tipping the odds in my favour. So make a space and put fitness in here too. Lets have some lycra Dead End suits and look as good as Clark Bantrum.

Re: Fitness page

I'm interested in getting into a fabric/Comic style suit, but need to get back into shape so I don't look like Love Handle Man instead.

Getting rid of all the years of buttered bread, porterhouse steak, chocolate cake, Eggs Benedict, etc, is rather difficult to do when you've got three kids, a private business, and a wife to keep happy on a daily basis.

We've got a ten year old Soloflex rubber band system and a brand new Bowflex Treadclimber. All I need is time. :ohwell

Do you guys know anything about the caffiene free Hydroxycut? I've been taking them lately to boost my metabolism, but they don't give me the caffiene boost to do any more than I ususally do during the day. I was on the old Stacker 2's a few years back and they seemed to work great, to give me the energy I needed to keep busy and get out on the bike. But, that was while I was still fighting for custody of my daughter and didn't have the wife and two other kids that are here today.

I didn't want to fill myself up with fake energy like the Stackers do, so I tried the caffiene free Hydroxycuts to try and kick start my own body's fat burning ability. They really don't seem to be doing sh*t. But then, I'm only really spending about two 1-hour sessions a week on the Soloflex. My right knee sucks and running is just out of the question. I had an ACL repair done back in '91 and have since tore it again about three years ago in Typhoon Lagoon in Disney World. :ohwell

I dunno'... Finding the time is pretty difficult, when you have other people depending on you for things.
