Being big helps with the lycra, but you don't wanna be carrying any spare flesh either.

For some people that is a problem, and I don't mean to come off as an arrogant prick (it always seems like I come off that way when I say this), but "spare flesh" as you put it has never been a problem for me. I am very lean, even at 205 lbs. I struggle to keep weight on more then I do losing it, and if I quit working out altogether I would be 180 lbs soaking wet. Last check of body fat % I was at 4.5 %.
You don't seem like a prick or arrogant, just telling the truth.

Thanks bro. I'm going as Supes for Halloween and my local comic con this year, so trying to bulk up to fit the part. This is the first time I will have worn a tight fitting lycra-style costume, so I want to play the part well. I felt good about my previous goals, and met them all but the squar. I hope to meet these new goals in 3 months.
Take :pics Your 12 weeks goals sound great!
Here are pics in the costume after the first 12 week cycle. This is at 6'2'' and 203 lbs. I will take more and post in the Costume Forum after Halloween. I feel like the lycra hides a lot of the detail & work I put in because the shadows don't shine like they should, but I feel comfortable in the costume despite its form fittedness (new word I just made). Pretty excited for Halloween.

Re: Fitness page: Stuck Please Read If Interested
Awesome thread! I think its a very important idea to have this on here, not only to look closer to cosplaying our favorite hero, but to feel great too.
number 1. is getting motivated and having the time these days to do it.
I went through a rough patch last summer with marriage and from all my anger and depression from it, I decided to direct all my emotions into exorcizing every day. so there was my motivation. I don't really have the time to go to the gym(but hopefully soon) so I just lock myself in my room and crank some music.
2. I needed to figure out what kinds of workouts that will need to do and get some equipment to help me accomplish this.
heres a list of a good start, and each week, try to push yourself more.
1. 20/30 pushups
2. 40/50 sit ups
3. 20 squats
4. 20 punches (each fist)
5. 20 kicks (each leg)
make sure for diet, drink lots of water and, eat the right foods, lots of protein.
when I started I wieghed 215, now Im down 196. plus my arms are now lean and have some defined muscle. my stomach fat has been burning away and starting to see some bumps lol. Not to mention I have great energy and getting more confidence, and the chicks love it so theres more motivation for ya if you are a single batman!LOL
