Re: Call me Mr. Freeze!

I drive my 1994 Ford Ranger 35 miles to work everyday it has no AC and the heat is stuck on. I love it!:raiseeybrow I actually have a choice of three other more much more aesthetically pleasing vehicles all with ice cold AC but refuse to drive them just so I can mock the heat. I love New England because it has all four seasons and I get to be cold and hot for at least two periods out of the year. Yes indeedy nice suit Brin.

It's been right at the 100 degree mark all week here in Missouri, too. I have to work outside in it all day climbing utility poles and working on cable. And I can tell you first hand, I would much rather be in the cold than the heat. I can dress for the cold, but when it's this hot, forget it. I've already been written up 3 times at work and have somewhere between 30-35 restraining orders on me for not wearing pants. A guy has to keep cool somehow!

I'm outside Charlotte, NC..and it has been in the high 90's this past week with humidity close to 80% by mid-afternoon. We are also one of the top worst air quality cities in America. It's like walking into a giant oven that somehow bakes water. Your lungs burn just walking to the car. Yeah, big fun.

I prefer winter like you would not believe. We don't get a lot of snow, but it does get cold.

Plus, I sweat like a piece of rancid pork.

EWWWWWW!!!!! I dont even want to know what the smell of rancid pork is. This story is sorta gross so if your quezzy dont read.

I used to be a fireman/paramedic outside of chicago. Several years ago, the heat was so bad hundreds of people died left and right. The city morgue had to rent refrig trucks to hold the bodies. I had to pick up folks in HOT houses day after day where they had died due to the heat. The smell of decaying bodies cooked at 100 degrees for hours was so unbearable I still remember it today. One guy (who lived in an attic) that we picked up was having a stoke. Even after we packed him with ice and put him in our air conditioned ambulance, still had a body core temp of 110 degrees when we got to the emergency room. In towns like ours where you not only have the temperature but also need to figure wind chills or heat indexes and humidity, I would just like you fellow bros to be cautious, careful and take care of yourselves.
