Re: I've seen Superman Returns

I think i can offer an explanation about this superman and kryptonite

How would you react if you were exposed to radiation?

Would you double over and start over acting and say "my powers! no!"

obviously not, so why would Superman?

once he came in close range of the radiation of the kryptonite, we saw a closeup of his head as beads of sweat formed. Superman doesn't sweat, so something is obviously wrong. That's when Luthor hits him. And when his hand touches an exposed crystal, it burns his fingers.

And notice, the kryptonite itself doesn't "inflict" pain (except for the shard, and that's cuz he was stabbed). It merely makes him vulnerable to the attacks of Lex's goons.

When Lois pulls the shard out his powers immediately recover even though he's still weakened. It's no longer disrupting his body's energy.

when he pushes the kryptonite continent out to space, it could have been that the radiation affected him again and knocked the wind out of him, hence why he lost consciousness.

I think the reason Superman could lift the kryptonite laced land mass into space was because he'd been super charged by both the sun and the volcanic lava under the ocean that he blasted into right before he took off with the land mass.

But in the cartoon (my comic knoledge is slim) the kryptonite really diasbles him and makes him curl.
but i can accept the radiation aspect considering the kryptonite renders him merely human right?

as for the sun charging him i agree but then why didn't it charge him when he was falling back to earth?

Over time Sups gets stronger due to the reaction of the sun's rays with his kryptonian genetic makeup. PLUS as foolish as it may seem, I think mind over matter works. His adrenaline was kicking and he was ready to kick some ass. You can do a LOT of things in that state of mind, its no different for Sups.

Also I know I'm a girl, but I'm a comic book nerd as well. I found the "I had forgotten how warm you are" to be sweet. Lois is like me in that respect. When you dont know what to say, you say something random. She spoke her mind, probably wouldn't have normally told him, but she was beyond her "zone".

Also, I don't think they will kill the kid in the next film. Most writers follow a certain pattern. You can kill babies, but not show it. You can harm and kidnap kids until they are 14/15, but not kill (usually mind you). And then after that you can do whatever you wish. So I figure they will give him a chance to grow up, and let us all be [sign in to see URL] kill him in some dramatic event. OR Kill Sups. A new starting point in the films would be nice.

And once again ALSO, they had no choice but to start at this point for the films. With Christopher Reeves legacy you can't touch that. They did their best by ignoring a couple of the films, but still.

(I can't believe I am defending sups when I was never a [sign in to see URL] is my hero!)

- I agree that adrenaline can boost your possiblity greatly

- regarding the quote. I found it funny but what "shocked" me was that tons of people complained about the brainiac attacks one but not the SR one. nothing outrageous though.

- i know they won't kill the kid it's just my evil side that's [sign in to see URL] like please kill rachel dawes! :firemad

-i don't believe they had no choice but they did a good job on that matter.

PS: I hated supes until i watched the cartoon :) :batman

I wonder if there will be a sequel? Pirates of the Carribean 2 made twice the money of SR in a week or less.
Seems the REAL Supermen are Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom an the Disney name on the movie! ringodog

Yeah I loved Pirates, OH and despite what some people say I LOVED Lady in the Water.

OK back to Sups. Well kinda. I think they pretty much "killed" her off with her line about when Bruce that she knew returns, so will [sign in to see URL] or less. So hopefully she'll fall in a pit somewhere and we won't have to see her half-cocked smile anymore.

Yeah I have issues with her and the [sign in to see URL].
Umm go see Lady in the Water if you like [sign in to see URL] films and the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard who will be playing the also lovely Gwen [sign in to see URL] girl will probably only be in one film.

 :lol
that got a good laugh out of me :)
I hate her cross-eyed staremore than her crooked mouth or her pointy nipples.

I haven't seen pirates or lady yet so no judgement

Poor girl, I always look at her and think that maybe she suffered a minor stroke and thats why her one side seems to be devoid of emotion or even the ability to express it.

Re: I've seen Superman Returns

So yeah ive seen it, i loved it, i loved the 50s dedicated plane scene, i love the old glasses scene, i loved the running in the street ripping open the shirt to reveal the (now smaller) S, but were is the original stuff, the big problem with it ,is that i expected to maybe see something that has never been seen, for example having Superman going super sonic, maybe having him going out of is mind and beating up Lex, and maybe having him wear the Electric blue suit or maybe even wearing the Black(not the grey) Superman suit from when he returns from is death. anyway loved it but it was missing some originality.
