Re: A question for all you who do or have done charity appearances as The Bat!

Ask WB or simply have it be free but put a box near the picture taking site at the location that says thank you for your donation and list a suggested amount.

I've done a few appearances for Down Syndrome Ireland. Contatced the WB, they first asked which state Dublin was in and I ahd to point out it was in Ireland...after that they pretty much just told me keep up the charaters rep and dignity (which considering Batman and Robin I found very funny).

Which state dublin is in?!?!?!?!?

Re: A question for all you who do or have done charity appearances as The Bat! (pics on pg 2)

Okay. Mothers Day is the traditional date in my area for the annual truck convoy. The Make a Wish Foundation sponsors a tractor trailer convoy that goes about 30 miles round trip. Many of the special, but sick kids come out and get to ride in the rigs, fire trucks, etc.

This year there were over 400 trucks (a Guiness record).

The day of the event, participants arrive several hours before the convoy begins. There is a food tent, music, games - much like a carnival atmosphere without the thrill rides.

I made my first public appearance this year. Batman was very well received and I had more fun than I ever expected. These "wish kids" eyes LIT UP when Batman took a picture with them. (Many of the other folks there, including volunteers, etc loved to take pics with Batman as well.)

They really treated me well, welcoming me and giving me a place to change.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND GETTING INVOLVED IN THIS TYPE OF VOLUNTEERING. EVERYONE WINS: THE CHARITY GETS A VOLUNTEER, THE KIDS GET TO SEE BATMAN AND THE "BROTHER" HAS A GOOD EXCUSE TO PUT ON THE SUIT!!

please contact make-a-wish here http://www.wish.org/

Here are the pics:

Doing stuff like that and making the kids (and adults :wink ) smile and believe that heroes DO exist is such a rewarding thing to do. It really is win/win because we get such a charge out of becoming Batman for a short time, and they get such a kick out of meeting their hero... And if charity can benefit, all the better. Way to keep the spirit of the Bat and this Brotherhood going! Looks like everyone had a great time. My cowl's off to you!
 :cheers

Grrreat job, nice shots and the panther belt with the gold pods is VERY cool.
If the panther belt had 3 LARGE pods on BOTH sides that were functional I'd get one.

'Gotta love making people happy and the many photos people love taking of Batman. It's always a PHOTO FRENZY when people see Batman showed-up!! I also love all the car honking, waving and laughing.
