I think we've got a lot of good ideas here and we should keep 'em coming. After a few more days we should have a poll to see what ideas people like best and what seems more feasible.
We should try and limit any voting to those who are pretty sure they'll be able to make it. And of course anyone who's there is welcome to join in.

With everyone wanting to do different things (Marvel, DC, Avengers, JLA) I thought that a combined float would go over well. Mabye, mabye not.
It is real early yet but it is never too early for pre-production work!!!

There are a lot of great ideas here..but like what was previously said, having such a LARGE group is very hard to arrange. In all honesty..those involved in the JLA project weren't sure that it would have came together as it did. We had people drop which is normal..and even costumes getting finished to the very end. These things happen.
Its good to have a plan..but it is difficult with everyone living so far away.
I'd love to go next year..and am hoping too as well. Money situation is a consideration. But after having such a great time with everyone...I am making every effort to be there.
And I didn't say "IF" big guy! :p :wink

My .02 worth:
Perhaps the easiest thing to do is devise a list of potential JL/DC charactors and have ppl sign up and have a second choice in the event someone can't come to the con.
Personally, I don't mind being a more obscure charactor for the parade. In fact, I'd like to go ahead at put my name on the original Crimson Avenger.
A float or a couple of cars/trucks is the way to go. Look at the Klingons and how they make a bold statement every year.
It would be cool if we could throw candy to the kids too. The problem with a float is getting a trailer to the con and getting it around downtown Atlanta.

I'm not sure exactly what you mean in terms of a float, but I've got plenty of friends in Atlanta with houses and land, and I know my cousin would let us use his house for sure (which also happens to be my old house, so there's a former art studio that can be used for float decorating). How to get it to the con is another story. Is this something that would fit in a minivan? (er...assuming our pathetic ford holds together another year....:p)
I was considering doing a costume for next year, but I don't think what I'm considering would fit in with the JLA or X-men thing very well (the Bowler from Mystery Men), so I don't think I'd participate in the parade, but I can certainly try to arrange a float-storing house for you if you like.
