Gluing On Knee Caps
Just before the jump to glue my armour down, is there any special way of sticking my Returns knee caps down to my Body Glove wetsuit?

Re: Returns knee caps
It's basically the same procedure as gluing down the armor... I wrap my knee area in Saran Wrap from about the upper third of my shin to a few inches above the knee, put the undersuit on & get it aligned the way it needs to be, slightly bend the knee & glue it on. I use DAP for the main part of the knee cap & Loctite Super Glue gel for the edges. You'll have to be careful to see if there is any overlap between your leg armor and the knee caps in the mounted position. Be sure to measure everything out well & have someone trace the outlines in chalk or white crayon onto the undersuit while you hold the armor pieces where you want them. If they overlap, you'll either want to trim out the area above the knee on the leg armor so that the knee caps have a place to go when your leg is unflexed, or leave a small area on the upper knee cap unglued so that they can overlap & still move freely. I'm sure others have their ways of doing it, but that's the method to my madness!

Re: Returns knee caps
And that's a good method too.:wink
You can also mark the area you are working on, by (place your knee armor into position) taking a small brush, and brushing on baby powder around the edges.
After the armor is glued down, just use a moist rag to remove the baby powder.
You may also consider Velcro for the knees.

Re: Returns knee caps
If you're using the big A1 ones I would suggest first glueing them down to a oiece of inner tube rubber then glue that to the suit Otherwise they'll cut into your shins where they are pointed. Take my word for it.

Re: Returns knee caps
Walk around in the suit for a little while and let it move and get adjusted to your body. Don't just glue it where you think it should go once you have just put it on.
I just used Zap-a-gap and the knee caps are holding better than the rest of the suit. :huh
