My Cape - Pics
Okay, so I got done latexing my cape. thing is, when I picked up the cape, I realized that extra, dried latex stuck to the tarp after painting the first side, came off the tarp and stuck to that side as I peeled it up after painting the second side. Is there any way to get that stuff off?

Re: another cape question.
:lol You see, there's the problem of run-on sentences, where some people take the middle part of the sentence and throw it in the beginning part of a sentence and then take the end part of the sentence and put in the middle part of the sentence so that there's never any true beginning or and end to the monotony and then the writer thinks that other people can actually figure out what in God's name they're saying, because of their complete and total misuse of the almighty comma. :lol
What happened? You got leftover latex stuck to the other side and you can't get it off?
I'm not sure. You might try rolling over that spot with the roller again, to put the texture onto it. I don't think the "slop" will peel off. You could try sanding it off if you don't want to cover over it.

yeah, dried, leftover latex got stuck to the other side and I cant get it off. I've been able to peel some of it off, but theres a big portion that won't come off.
Thanks E6 :)

Re: another cape question.
I rolled more latex on the cape to fix it and its ok now.
Janty recommended I also use Black Magic wet shine spray on the cape to keep the latex from sticking to itself. It works great. It works a little too well actually. I can't get anything else to stick to it, even the clothing snaps I'm trying to glue onto it for cowl attachment.
What kinds of paint-stripping chemicals would remove the wet shine spray? I'm just needing to remove the stuff in the areas under the cowl scallops, so I can glue snaps on.
And what adhesive would be best for gluing metal snaps down to latex? goop? 2-part epoxy maybe?
Thanks guys.

Imperfections make the cape look all the better IMO.

I'm glad to know someone thinks that, because I was getting pretty stressed out trying to make the seams line up with my cowl scallops, and I decided, screw it. :p
I also accidentally sewed the outermost 2 seams on the other side of the cape than the other 5 seams. oops!
