That's a great question Alex. I'd like to know this as well.

Answering for Zane here- I've been talking w/ Zane alot on this. His kevlar armored batsuit weighs only 39 lbs, and has no restrictions and is comfortable enough that he's worn the suit for hours at a time!

Re: Kevlar® Armor Your Cowl

Thanks Bountys Hunted for helping catch me up! Absolutely right, and refers to my suit that uses the heavily e-K armored DAVIDYR1 leather chest. Using this less e-K'd Janty Panther chest (but both have breathy, flex Kevlar 29 front and back internal BPV panels) makes it 34 lbs. And note that latex is avoided for the hips and legs -- keeping them flexible and airy, and with e-K thigh and knee armor in inside pockets of the Nomex® tights.

Cowl venting helps a lot, the Nomex cape is only a few pounds, and the goal with all functional Bat Suits should be the ability to play football in 'em (other than with the cape).

Batiman Alex: Do you have a copy of the full-suit Clooney pic that's the source of your Avatar? The only one I have is from the B&R book, which is kinda grainy to scan, and I'd like to get a bigger and better version.

Thanks guys,

Zane

Zane, can you send me that file again? You sent it to be before, but since then I had to erase my harddrive... Which sucked... Also, does the model cowl have to be the same style as the actual base cowl. My Begins cowl is going to be too big, so I was going to have to line it anyway. I think it'd be bad ass if I had it lined with Kevlar... Thanks Zane, you keep the Bat dream alive, Bro...
