The Batman Cowl
:batfly I saw the new show and really liked new look. I was wondering if anyone knew where I could have a cowl like that one made? BUT I want a cloth or leather or anything but latex. Maybe like the old Adam West cowl. Except all black. If anyone can help please email me. :signal

Re: The Batman (cowl)
I would say make a fiberglass shell similar to the one used for the West cowl only in the shape you want it (more triangular eye holes and what not) Then cover it with spandex and then coat it with plasti-dip until you get the look you want. You will lose your "stretch" so make sure it fits without any give before you coat it. There are a few brothers here who have made great looking Daredevil cowls. Maybe they'll chime in.

Re: The Batman (cowl)
i think what he means is not only the look of it but the functionality as well - -
to able to wear it with minimal sweating (being cloth) and taking it off by pulling it backwards (swept back) from the cowl's mouth opening.
..that's going to be the Holy Grail of Batman-Cowls.

Re: The Batman (cowl)
Actually, I've been surprised by how breathable this type of cowl can be. I'm working on a cape/cowl combo using this same process. It can get a little warm after awhile but won't make you sweat bullets the way latex cowls can. No KY in your hair either:-) as for the pulling over your head, that'd be a pretty simple application to this style of cowl. Just leave a large area uncoated on each side of the mouth opening so it'll stretch still. It won't match the rest of the cowl but you could make the uncoated sections in the shape of triangles or some other interesting shapes and tag style along with functionality.
