I forgot to mention that if the plastic acetate with your bat design doesn't cover all the screen material then mask off whatever part of it is showing with some masking tape. nondisclosed_email@example.com (dorcphish)Tue, 02 Mar 2004 13:49:05 +0000 Re: Silk screeninghttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797567,from=rss#post1797567https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797567,from=rss#post1797567Thanks for the link! Thanks thats good advice! :up I have seen the Silkscreen Kits you mentioned on the web. I will have to get my hands on one. Always thought these kits would be handy to make good custom Bat T-Shirts too. Your best bet is to check at Michael's or Pat Catans for a silk screening kit. You're going to take an exacto knife and basically cut your bat emblem out of the acetate by hand, making sure you're only cutting through the green layer and not all the way through. When it's cut out, you'll stretch your screen over your frame, attach your acetate to the screen using some sealer (some acetate attaches with water), and then you're ready to go. Also, make sure that you put some kind of board inside of your top so that the bat doesn't seep through to the back of your costume. If you need any help, my e-mail is dorcphish@hotmail.com but if you can find the kit I'm talking about, they'll explain everything for you. EDIT: I didn't read your post very closely. If you're screening onto a black top, gray will show up but white will look patchy and won't be very visible. You might even want to do a few layers. nondisclosed_email@example.com (dorcphish)Mon, 01 Mar 2004 19:48:37 +0000 Silk Screening An Emblemhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797563,from=rss#post1797563https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p1797563,from=rss#post1797563I am thinking of making a bat costume but completly out of matterial, (I want to get away from latex for this one) so how would you go about silk screening a bat shape on to a black long sleeved top? thanx.nondisclosed_email@example.com (Gazzaronie3)Mon, 01 Mar 2004 15:09:28 +0000
