Re: Building a home-made PVC mannequin....Part 1) the Skeleton

This is by far the best tutorial I've seen on making one of these.:drummer I was about to start on one that I had found on another web-site, but I like this one much better. The other one I saw didn't have articulation at the knees nor did it have feet. It had to be mounted to some type of base which meant putting holes in the soles of the boots. This.... this just kicks gluteous! Thanks a ton for posting it. I will definitely get some mileage out of it!!!!

I've seen pvc pipe dummies before but this is the FIRST posable one I know of! Really clever!
One I've seen had wood boards for the hips and shoulders, the dummy could'nt stand alone. Had padding over it to shape the body.

The other one could stand but was'nt posable.
A shame that only figures with full head masks or helmets can be done as I want a Superman and Captain Marvel.

Thanks! emoticon
Can someone copy this for the LOH board for me please? I seem to be having some problems with that.

Don't let all the parts scare you away from this. There's really nothing to it. Once you have all the parts and get the measurements and pipe cut,it goes right together very quickly. Measuring and cutting only took me about 10 min.

The one in the pic only took 45mins. to do in real time, but much longer for pics, etc. for the tutorial....couple hours. If I didn't have to slow down or stop,I could of done while waiting for a pizza, that's how easy it is. :p
Then again,I am a pipefitter. :lol I don't work with little plastic pipe like this, but it's the same theory. I already did all the thinking,so you guys just have to duplicate it. :wink

Very clever. You'll have to show us a pic with the batsuit on it.

Al,check out the 'Costume Vault'...there's a thread with my Panther,89 and Returns suits all together. The Panther and Returns are on this type of mannequin and the '89 is on a real mannequin. :wink

I don't know if I should have a link to a non Batman fan page but I built two lifesize dummies years ago of Dr. Smith and Will Robinson.

I changed my page maybe 60 times so I can't give what page they're on but I can tell you they are in the fullsize LIS robot replica section near the end. The page is mostly monsters and cartoons.
