Plasti Dip on Pleather
Hey there,
I have a pair of pleather gauntlets, with custom pleather fins, and was wondering if I could plasti dip the fins just to give them that extra stiffness??? Would appriciate it if you plasti dip experts would chime in!!! Thanks

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
dont know about the outside - but you can plasti-dip the inside surface: I've tested that for a cape idea...
If they are already stiched on - that might not be much help eh?

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
Are the inside of the fins sewn up? If not you could try to put some model magic in them to retain the shape. I am not sure if it would work but it is worth a try.

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
good ideas guys
The fins are stitched in , but they are open so you can stuff them. Model Magic sounds like a viable solution, but I am looking to plastidip the actual pleather surface, (outside). Anymore ideas please let me know!!!!
Thanks :help

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
If you have any extra plasti-dip you can try it and see if it will hold up. I have heard that it will peel and crack on flexible surfaces.

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
I went out and got some model magic today and stuffed the fins. Much better!!!! I still think that I'll try the plasti dip on the outside, and leave the model magic inside. I think they'll make a good team!
Thanks for the tip stampede!! :signal

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
plasti dip on pleather makes no difference. i tried this on the corset (sp) part of my wifes catwoman suit. all it did is make it feel rubbery. it didn't stiffen anything. (insert joke here)

Didn't stiffen anything? I am going to leave that one alone. It is too easy!

Re: Will Plasti Dip work on Pleather?
Well, then it sounds like the plasti dip will at least stay on the pleather. The model magic provides the stiffness, and sounds like the plasti dip will finish it off with that rubbery look!!! I'll give it a shot.
