Dead End Costume
Hey Guys,
I have been contemplating next year's suit, and have decided that I want to go with the Dead End style suit. I just have a few questions for those who might be able to help.
First, I know the Dead End cape has been discussed before, but I still have questions. Is anybody sure of how the pattern would look? Has anyone made one? It seems to me that it is a bit different from the traditional 89 cape pattern. The ribbing looks different too. Also, someone said that they thought the cape was made from a light fabric sprayed with latex. Can anyone varify?
Also, does anybody know what fins were used?
-Jon

Re: Questions about the Dead End Costume
I'm no expert on this, but I believe the Dead End cape pattern looks very much like this.

Re: Questions about the Dead End Costume
Black wood is correct in his pattern that is what was used for sead end. And Gonzalo is right as well their were two different styles, however, it isn't so much style as it is leangth. It was the same pattern on was just longer for the more dramatic shots.
The cape was made from a light weight coated material what it was made of i am not sure.
The cowl many have made and a few are available now, all from latex, although the one in the film was foam rubber. The grey body suit was made of Under Armor it was bough white and professionally dyed to a grey color. the belt i am not sure about a few people here have found pretty good versions of I think at Cheaper Than Dirt.
hope that was helpfull.

Re: Questions about the Dead End Costume
Gonzalo,
Do you know if Costumes Central is a good company?
I have been looking for some Leather Comic style gloves for a while!
Anyone ordered from there?
--- Hee hee. "Get her." That was your whole plan. I like it; it was scientific.

Re: Questions about the Dead End Costume
hey luke,
Yhey are good people but the quality is not so good. Their gloves and capes and boot tops are all made from pleather. for small items like the gloves i would say your okay, but for the capes masks and things not so much, the body suits are fine, but when they apply emblems they are almost never straight.
