Re: Flash bang / smoke grenade props
that would be great to spilet them apart. Put chemicals in each half put a thinn layer of plastic in between and then re-seal them so that when they are smashed they have a chemical reaction, suck as gas, flash of light or even a small explosion. Very cool. Good thing im a chemistry major lol.

Re: Flash bang / smoke grenade props
I know the two chemicals needed to creat a dense smoke screen, it was used in world war 2 to blind tanks so they couldnt fire. If you want me to post the chemicals let me know, i do not know if I am permitted to do so on the board.

Re: Flash bang / smoke grenade props
I've just found that with a little modification, the 7 oz. Gillete shaving gel cans are the perfect size and shape for flash-bangs and smoke grenades. They're not the nifty marble sized things that Robin and Spoiler have, but if you're looking for realistic sized grenades, then these are perfect. Just take the label off, paint them black, put some lettering of your choice on, and build the pull-pin mechanism to go on top. I'm gonna try to get mine to look something like the yellow ones Batman has in Hush. But here's some good shots of some real ones(er, uh, life-size props of real ones anyway)
and another one, not identical, but close:
I guess it would be easy to scale the size of one from the first image from the size of the hand. Those Gillette gel cans are about the same size as those No. 25's.

Re: Flash bang / smoke grenade props
I wasn't going to post about the "real" types, since I figured we were talking something else like those capsules...but since others did, here's a case mold tutorial that shows the two types I've made.
http://www.clevelandfx.com/crazylou/tutorials/casemold.htm
I used a small, 6 or 8 ounce V8 can and an empty compressed air duster can.
anyone wants to make these kind, I already have the fuse section molded.
