I soooo need one of those! I would paint it in a gun metal tone and put a nice, smoothe layer of red latex on the button :bounce

Good job tom and keep me updated! :up

Re: BTAS grappling hook gun DONE

thanks. funny you should mention shops...I was actually laying it out in emachineshop's free software check it out here and looking into getting them injection molded. It's not going to happen, but would be awesome. I'll post the files up on the site for anyone who wants to take a look for themselves when I get them done.

I think the begins gun in terms of pneumatics might be easier (depending on the size of it) I think some BB gun or paintball stuff might be modified to fit into a shell. The problem is I don't have a full machine shop or access to one. If you should happen to come across scale drawings or something like that I might entertain the idea.

new version of the hook's molded and I'm casting one now to shoot some video tests later today. The larger inner barrel and tube for the hook seems like it might be a good thing, I think it might shoot further and harder. That might help out with the "line drag". I ended up using 1/8 brass pipe for the inner barrel, a 4" piece cut off just below the threads on one end. maybe 3 1/2" long now.

The last piece that I'm trying to find/make today is the spool, off to the odd parts stores to see what they have.

I got the screws and put it together, waiting on the fixit paste (from aves) to cast one up for the movie with, should be super strong and much nicer to patch, bonds to itself like mad.

If it doesn't start raining here I'm shooting video tests this afternoon and will have them online tonight.

{EDIT}
So I was thinking, does anyone have contact info for the people involved with the series? I was thinking about sending one of these out to someone involved with it. Maybe Paul Dini.

{EDIT}

Tom
