Re: BTAS grappling hook gun DONE

5th time's the charm, I hope...

post wasn't working and power was on and off, so gave up for a while. anyone have contact info on him, I'd love to get one into his hands.

had storms today, so no footage, did go out and play in the rain a little. long story short, need a little more pressure build up on the hook, as is it's going 15-20 feet both vertical and horizontal, had a lip on the pipe at first, got 10 feet further, sanded off and dropped to 15-20 range. have a few ideas on how to correct that, so no big. those are without the line, still don't have a :cussing spool. I tried with the one I have that holds about 12 feet, played out fine until the end, and didn't bounce back into my face (a concern I had with hard pointy plastic)

anyway, if weather works I'll shoot video tomorrow and get it up on the site, if ANYONE might have a spool type object PLEASE email me. It's got to fit in this thing and meet a few criteria, which is the big problem I'm having (not to mention time or proper tools to sit and fiddle with making one from scratch)

Anyway, besides that not much to report really, the dummy pneumatic mold works fine, I cast a set up earlier, the hook mold works just fine, OH, this might count as news, I did find some dummy plugs (plastic snap in covers for screw holes) that fit the hole used for the hose on the working version. I also ordered some of the FIXIT paste from aves to give take a shot at using that to cast them up in. Should be in this week, and when these couple little bugs are fixed I'll officially call it done.

That's about it with the bad weather and lack of spool.

ignore the fat hairy guy in the video. :sick

also forgot to mention on the page was on a normal tripod so figure camera was 4-5 feet off the ground and about 20 feet back in the second clip, so take that into account when you try to figure height. I was also at least 6 feet away from the back wall myself. It did clear the house.

sound was completely unintentional, but first time I heard it I giggled at how cool it was, a nice little bonus.

Still working out bugs, but most of the stuff is little things now.

don't think it'd work [sign in to see URL] only it would. Too much drag on the line/tension from what I've felt. emoticon

[sign in to see URL] metal [sign in to see URL] make a pretty nice fishing rig. It could be done, if only the hooks were spring loaded to grab.

I'll leave that to someone else, if a belt buckle can be made to work, so can a hook.
