Ok as promised I did a test of the glue Aquasure I used it to glue up a thin spot on the back of the torso.

I put this on pretty thick to fill the gap...left it overnight ....just went back to it...its not going anywhere ha!

This glue is extremely flexible it dries clear and if it will stick to Urethane then it should stick to latex no problem.

The Brand name may be different in the US...basically just go to a wetsuit site and look for a repair glue that is Urethane based.

When I my undersuit finally arrives I'm going to use a combination of both Aquasure and Superglue to tidy up the outer edges.
Right I'm just going to place an order for a few more tubes... They aint cheap but totally worth it.

Sounds like great stuff. What did you glue it to? A piece of fabric?

Re: what was that glue?

No I just used it to repair my torso as it had a thin spot on it ...I applied glue straight to the Urethane Torso. Then after it fully cured I then tried to pull it off the torso....didn't want to let go ha.

This glue is intended to be used on neoprene wetsuits as a way of repairing tears and scuffs and so on I figured since its meant to repair tears and is Urethane based it must be pretty strong and remain flexible.
When I tried to remove the glue I pulled so hard that it stretched ...but as soon as I released it it went straight back to its original form. So I'm going to apply the Glue the same way as shown in Echo's tutorial. You can even buy a addative for the glue so that it goes tacky in less time and also fully cured in 2 hrs ... I'll be buying the addative as well.

How much was it and how much do you get in a tube?

Keep in mind it may react differently gluing rubber to a wetsuit. But it certainly sounds promising. I'll be keeping a close eye on your progress. :wink

That's all interesting. That Aquasure stuff sounds like an anaswr for all of us with any urethane stuff. How long does it take to set up?
Also I'm QUITE confused that the Goop is giving anyone problems with latex. I've glued several suits with it and it works great. The thing is though you can't do it by following the directions on the tube. You have to glue it a few inches at a time around the edge (about 1/4" to 1/2" in from the edge). Just apply it directly to the armor and while it's wet stick it in place and hold it for about 10 mimutes till it sets up. Then move on for another few inches.and again, and again till you go all the way around. It's a lengthy process but it works. It takes about 2 tubes of goop to bond an entire suit down. I did my Returns suit in late 2001 and it's still on the suit and showing no evidence of that changeing. I have a tutorial on modifying a Rubies suit that also covers the glueing process I have used, you can check it out here http://com1.runboard.com/bbrotherhoodofthebat.f17.t189780
Hopefully that will help you out.
