Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
Thanks Jeremey! Good luck with your gauntlets. Be sure to keep us updated. Speaking of which here's a quick update on my gauntlets.
I am wondering how I should mold these. I think I will have to do a 1 piece mold without the fins and cast the fins seperate and attach them later since there are 2 rows I think it would be impossible to mold with the fins attached. Any suggestions?

Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
very nice JBrown. I would cast the fins separately as well. As for the gauntlet itself, I would put six rectangular holes in them, one for each fin of course, which would allow to put this in once the gauntlets are molded:

...earth magnets. you could then either make your fins of urethane and just glue them over the magnets, or (my favorite) have metal fins be made so that they can be locked in place and thrown at will. Imagine!! Whatever you choose to do is great, but I really hope you consider this, cause I think it would look amazing...

Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
You might be able to mold it with the fins, but casting, detail, and demolding the castings will be a major problem.

Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
I don't have the means to make metal fins unless I made each one individually, which would be quite time consuming. I will most likely just glue the fins into the finished guantlets. That would be really cool though, to do the metal fins.

Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
that's fine (to just do the fins out of resin) couldn't you just make the gauntlets with those holes in case someone (look at me implying your gonna trade copies of these bad boys!)would swap resin for metal? I don't want to seem insistent, the choice is yours!

Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
Wouldn't it be great if each fin would be actually two fins folded in two, with a hinge to allow them to open ( think batarang 89: when folded you would get the fin). The hinge could tightly fit in the slots you mention. you'd get like, six batarangs per gauntlet! I know this may sound nuts, I'm just day dreaming... :zzzz
Here: I just made a quick drawing of what it would look like, keep in mind it would be of course all black...

Re: TDK Gauntlet Sculpt WIP
I think you're knocking this out of the park! Where did you find reference for what you're sculpting there?
