Fiberglass Begins Gauntlets - First Pull - Pics Pgs. 1-3, 5,7

Hi guys, just finished the mould on the weekend and pulled a quick fiberglass one out to see how it looks, have put a pic in for you to look at. It's just straight out of mould, but should scrub up nicely I think.

I have documented the entire process from sculpt to mould, so if anyone is interested I can post up how I did it with pics. I just have to work on making and moulding some resin fins. ;)

Re: My fibreglass begins gauntlets 1st pull

Well here are some pic updates, I have just started working on the fins so am getting there just gottage put maybe an hr or so more work into em and then get them into a mould then Ill be right with these I think. I just stuck the fins on with some clay to see what they would look like in the pic. Pics are sorta some from when i started sculpting it to moulding to my first one I popped out. If you click on the pic u get a bigger image:I think the moulds eplain themselves, I put platicene around the original plug to create a hollow in the f/glass wall mould, to allow room for the silicon to be poured in..i hope that makes sense ;)

How will you attach the fins? I'm liking the shape of them.

I will be seating them into the gauntlet itself, I like the look of the fins seated into the gauntlet as they r in the movie, rather than just stuck on top. Before i moulded it I was meant to sink sections into where they were to go and remembered as I was pouring the silicon..opps lol.. but is all kewl as Ill just dremel indents into it, Then Ill use body filler to secure em prob and maybe screw from inside up into them. Will be solid as a rock.
