though call [sign in to see URL] the more when you consider that when worn, the belt will look just a bit darker, since it will be surrounded by black. (At least I think that's how it works...)

Both look nice, but I'm getting like a «beige vibe» from the bottom one, especially the buckle. The pouch (bottom left) is a bit darker than the top belt, is that it?

You know what, I would put all your pieces on a black cloth, so that all the light (well, not ALL the light) is absorbed by it. But with this pic, I think the color from the bottom left pouch is th one to go [sign in to see URL] think emoticon

See.. in this pic, yes the bottom belt is AWESOME.. but really in person.. its dark. Im waiting to see what the belt owner wants me to do.

An dI would think against a dark background, the belt would look lighter.

The color we need is the color of hard anodized aluminum. This is what the Real Deal is supposed to look like (HA Alum.) and as soon as I can find a paint i like.. this battle will be over...

I like both colors, maybe you should let people have the choice between two colors?
As for accuracy, I have only photos from [sign in to see URL].
The color varies from camera to camera, and the color settings on your monitor are important too. So I cant tell you wich color is nearer to the screen used color.
From my point of view, the more golden, finished belt looks closer to the pictures I have, could have more copper color in it.
Personally I would take the color of the unfinished belt, I dont like it too blinky-blinky on Batman.

So what do you do when someone has asked you to build a belt, you do, and it turns out 1000000x's better than yours? :firemad How do you tell him that he cant have it?? :rollin

Kidding of course. However, this belt i built turned out much better than mine. I think i have settled on a finish, it is a special blend but the color is awesome. my opinion at least.

Please pay no attention to the backs of the links. I didnt want to show this until it was done done.. but im quite pleased and well, i might as well share. Anyway, the backs of the links will be covered in [sign in to see URL] neoprene... as soon as that decides to show up.

I also didnt want to show this shot of the belt until later.. but it looks so cool folded up... ;)

I am very self conscience about the quality and i do let every little thing bug me. So i did take a ton of time extra on this. I think im running 2 weeks past schedule-- i hope to trump this too... but i dont know.. this is a tough act to follow emoticon

Both are beautiful, so I gotta ask: which is which? (edit: I think you prefer the bottom one right? its a very nice color indeed). And it looks like you followed my advice on the black backgroung, thats cool! emoticon

...and the neoprene is a great idea by the way.

They are just the toys were all looking for. Way to go on such excellent work. Up until now NO one has made the links lock together. You could not fold a belt totally if it was fixed to a underbelt, they buckle and the links pop out. Not very flattering. Yours is top quality. :up

Making me blush... ;)

Na.. i just looked at the pics of the belt and gave it the old college try... I mean, what was the worst that could happen? [sign in to see URL] in clay and tools wasted? But the more i worked on it, the more i smiled... and well.. now were here. Obviously, MUCH more invested... but well worth it... I love my belt. I never get tired of looking at it... but damn it.. now i have to build another for me... LMAO... prototype going on the wall or something..

Re: KB TDK BELT

So I have been hesitant of showing pics of the back of my belt.
Reason being, i never planned on finishing the parts in paint so I didnt take much care when prepping them. They have belt sander lines. Theyre uniform and look like it was done on purpose, but they just dont finish like the rest of the belt.

I almost scrapped the idea yesterday.. but i wanted to cover the back in [sign in to see URL] neoprene. I worked a bit on it last night.. and neoprene is a BZITCH to cut strait. I had given up on it.. and was explaining it to my Mother (who loves this hobby and all of my ventures with it) and when I came home from work today I walk in to this...

LMAO She's hired. I am actually farming this out to her as she did such an awesome job.

EDIT*** pay no attention to the rear links.. i did those. From now on they will all be separate pieces.

Seriously Bro! does your Mum have wings and a halo?
Just the slightest mention of Batman or my costuming around my Mum and I'm greeted with a chorus of "Der ner ner ner ner ner ner ner Batman!" and a chorus of cackeling laughter.
You should consider yourself bloomin' lucky to have her.

Yes, my Mom is "the man". She supports everything i do and is the SOLE reason i can do the things i can do.. She is artistic.. intelligent and a great person. If i owe anyone thanks for anything, its her.

Yes, she will be doing the neoprene on the backs of any belts i build.

Im so excited, I am going to run new molds of the accessories this weekend and then pull some new parts and hopefully monday i can ship off this belt as well as another.

Then i guess ill be bored... with nothing to do next.... Anyone have anything for me to do??? emoticon

Been a while since i posted an update...

well, the development had stopped... but i decided to go a different route than i had been with paint.. they discontinued the color i had settled on... so i had to get some custom mixed. I think im settling here...

the pic is of the real deal.. the problem is what pic is of the true color? i went with this pic because i think the lighting might best represent the color.. i have many other pics that are similar.. but then theres the pic where its dull and red looking.. BAAHHHH... heres the new color..@ [sign in to see URL] a pint..

I was going to say that as well. $100 for a pint of paint is a bit rediculous. Seriously. Good craft and hobby stores, hell, even good paint stores, carry base paints that you can add color pigments to so that you can customize your own color, and it doesnt cost neraly what this cost you.

its ppg automotive grade paint. It started out @ [sign in to see URL] for the color and reducer... And then I had it tweaked the next day. The paint we tweaked it with is about [sign in to see URL] a quart.. He didnt charge for the tweak, he said, don't worry- we will get you when you want this remade LMAO.

Granted, this is themost expensive paint store in town.. But they have a rep for being the best. Why should I settle for less? Why should those who get a belt expect less?

Plus, with reducer factored in, its like two pints as it is mixed a little taller than 1:1 with less paint than reducer..
