thx Brin emoticon
[sign in to see URL] I made everything, The cylinders i just took a walk around the hardware store here looking at the plumbing section for poly pipe and fittings, was just a matter of getting right diameter and then dremeling and shaping, pouch has yet to have a button on front but made outta balsa wood sprayed with spray putty, smoothed and molded then cast in F/glass resin/silca flour filler. Then I just drilled holes and set in some grub screws, wanted to put these in seperate rather than mould em in as I think they look better.

Re: My begins belt so far

I just had a rumage through my paint cans trying to find the paint code was on the lid and I must have thrown away!! so sorry :(
I looked around at my local auto store and I guess I got lucky,The colour is always diff when you use it compared to what the lid colour is but I guess worked out ok, the colour seems to be a personal thing as diff people like diff looks is a case of how many shades of gold there are and [sign in to see URL] are lots, so yeah is an automotive acrylic, acrylics are great as they dry evenly and in general I find easy to work [sign in to see URL] silver is a super chrome, again from the auto store. Hope that answers your question.

Sweet! I like the locking pins.. i actually have something similar drawn up (one of 4 ways) for my belt..

word of advise, be careful with the magnet plate.. they are super fragile.. i broke two building my guano belt, just opening and closing it (they slap together)..

This is why I abandoned the plates for rounds..

I was thinking perhaps some sort of silicon cushion??...

Impressive work..

Hey Guys thx again,Hey Keith what did u mean about the magnet plates? I know what ya mean with them clashing, damn they r scary eh, sorta confussed what ya meant, I put the black strip of foam on to prevent the'clash' is that what ya mean?BTW your belt is looking fantastic been following ur thread, very snazy well done! I think you have to build one of these things to realize how much work goes into making one, hats off to all who have made this belt ya all have my respect ;)
Patrick, I sorta am just doing this for my own thing, I may make another one or two, I should try to as this was the 1st sorta proto type and am sure the next would be way nicer but will wait till I get my belt sander as sanding this stuff smooth by hand SH#Ts me lol,it really is tough [sign in to see URL] on insurance coming through for the shed fire I had not so long ago so will see eh but I tend not to bulk make [sign in to see URL] again guy thx for the kind words and inspiration.

Thank YOU for the kind words.

Yes, you have it. I thought the black strip was steel.. if thats foam then you might be right on. Those magnets are nutz, aren't they??

The ones I originally wanted to use had 120lb pull force.. and i think that might have been overkill.

You sanded those all out by hand? Kudos. I cheated and bought the belt sander.. made light work of a lot of this.
