Why would Batman hurl napalm or acid at another human being?

I don't see him as to trying to replicate the incident that created Two-Face, personally. That's just what kills off those theories for me.

By Jove, TJ, it looks like you've got it!

And Rick, no need for speculation and wishfull thinking with so much hard evidence of both script and film. At least the Dark Knight aimed the device at Catwoman's clothed side and not at her lovely face. And the pressurized cartridge exploded mainly away from her body, as it would.

It will take the paint off your car but would only cause a rash and mybe some burns on Kitties arm.

I suppose in the right concentration it would be like Bats using pepper spray.

I assume that it was mixed with something to make it heat up (hence the glow) and would then explode from it's container.

Re: Batman Returns Glowing Thingy?

you also have to remember that in a scene very close to that scene,
batman strapped a live bomb to a large thug, then threw him off of the building, walking away from the explosion of the bomb that was strapped to said thug- most likely resulting in a very messy death, while batman didn't even wince, he just strode away...
so the real question is, "why WOULDN'T batman try to kill her?" :lol

i am also getting a kick out of this:
Quote:

When excited, these complexes emit red and green light, respectively, which are two of the three primary colors, along with blue, necessary for the manufacture of multicolor displays, she added.

for those of you that don't know, the primary colors are red, blue, and yellow. they are primary because you mix these colors together to get almost every other color. GREEN is a mixture of equal parts blue and yellow, (duuuh) and therefore is NOT a primary color...

He wasn't trying to kill her and sometimes in order to come out on top of a situation the Bta just needs to hurt people. hell i can't even count the number of batarangs he's planted in peoples hands, arms, legs, and even their eyes. causing the good injuries in order to effectivly put the bad guy..... and i'm still not sure why the tim burton movies had bats killin' a bunch of hench men. i mean it's not like they even get medical insurance or anything. but my fave was in Batman 89 when he used his legs to pull that on dude down the cathedral's bell tower. that was pretty funny.

True enough about the big bald guy (you watchin', Brin?), although the charges were a lot weaker than dynamite, so the blast may not have been terribly injurious. But did Batman know or suspect how powerful the sticks were?

At least we know Batman didn't try to kill Catwoman; and he quickly saved her as she slipped down the pitched roof, then reflexively slugged her off the ledge only after she teased by caressing his bare side and punched him in the middle. When she landed on the kitty litter truck-bed, the acid damage to her costume looked significant enough, and her wound showed up later as not small, either.

Chemist Bettencourt-Dias appears to know what she's talking about. Red, blue, and yellow are primary color pigments. Red, blue, and green are primary spectral colors of light, and of course chemical reactions can produce different colored compounds than physical pigment mixtures, too. Best to be sure of facts before sneering.

Are we hijacking? Maybe we should return to topic about this thread's device.

keep in mind that he also straps dynamite to a guy and throws him in a hole. and smiles.

So think about how this works.

If you kill a killer with his own instrument of death, are you as bad as he is? Or simply an ironic justice?

Regardless of Irony, if you kill a killer, you become that which you were attempting to stave off.
