Re: ** TDK Base gloves identified! **
One more thought: instead of ripping the circular stitch jobs out of the palm, why not use black permanent mark to shade over (or some other way to turn the white dark).
My one concern with tearing the threat out is that it may weaken the gloves structure (especially around the bottom of palm).
I have a set of Tarmac v.2 (grey, xl) which I haven't started working on, and i'm likely to try this approach before ripping the stitches out.
Jason.

You can get black leather dye to color the white stitching. I agree that ripping it out would weaken the structural integrity of the glove. I would recommend just coloring over it with some kind of ink. But then again, I am no expert.

Isn't the stitching just decorative?
Either way, if you did pull the stitches you'd still see the marks/holes that are left behind.
I'm expecting some Scorpions real soon so I am hoping to be able to make a better judgement call on it then.

Re: ** TDK Base gloves identified! **
It depends how much of the stitching you are going to rip out: not only are there circles with stitch outlines but the entire leather piece that covers the palm has white stitching - meaning you'd have to take care of both for it to look right.
Removing the circles may be fine, but the stitching that holds the entire leather piece down will most likely cause trouble.
Dying seems to be the safest bet.

Guessing that the stitching will be synthetic, making is harder to dye, but why not just use a permanent textile marker and go over it?

That's what I had pretty well suggested earlier in the thread - I was using the term "dying" loosely lol.

Re: ** TDK Base gloves identified! **
Okay guys this is what the stitching looks like with a couple coats of Black Sharpie (just shading over the stitching - the palm really doesn't have a blue tinge to it like in the photo):
I took an exacto knife and "skinned" the rubber lettering off of the strap (also worked well to get the white flag off of the leather buckle).
Best,
Jason

Nice work. What gloves are those? You plan on dying the gray?

Re: ** TDK Base gloves identified! **
Those are the Tarmac v.2 's in grey xl my friend. I'm not sure how i'm going to handle the grey mesh, I may even leave it as is (pending on what I come up with in terms of a suit). Grey may give the impression of carbon fibre. I'd even go one shade of grey darker...that or I may just use a black sharp on the whole thing lol

Here are mine, modified as you can see...I used a textile marker to make the lines black...remove the strap, and all rubber parts...
pictures don't do justice, now the lines are really black...
