Yeah, I liked Public Enemies. It's not my favorite Batman story, but it's pretty good. I liked Supergirl a lot better when Jeph wrote it.

Everything I would have said has been said already. Right now I'm reading the dailies from 1940-43. It's pretty interesting to see such early bat-stories. It also makes me envious of all the kids back then that had to deal with the suspense of waiting a whole day between panels LOL

Really? You liked Superman/Batman: Public Enemies? I gotta say i was disappointed.
The only thing that was amazing (in my book) about that one was the internal monologue Batman and Superman had going with regards to each other. That was done extraordinarily well and does justify the read. But everything else I felt was very mediocre. Then again I like Hush, so what do I know?

I'm going to have to agree completely here. Plus I wasn't a big fan of the art style when it came to the characters themselves.

Furthermore I have nothing to add to this topic that hasn't been said already. But I do agree with pretty much everything Terry has posted.

Wow? Someone agreed with me? That's cool. :toocool
But wait... You also agree with the guy that didn't like Hush... Even though that quote in your siggy there is from Hush? :raiseeybrow
Lol. No. I'm just flipping you crap. It's weird but I feel good being agreed with. Makes me think I'm accurate when I think I have a good sense of taste. Thanks! emoticon

I believe a thug in Returns said it best:

There's another excellent hardcover recently that came out (though I don't believe it's in continuity) called "Batman: Lovers and Madmen." It concerns another possible Joker origin, and Batman's first encounter with him.

Oh, and try "Batman: Year 100" by Paul Pope. It's set in 2039, and is pretty unlike any other batman story I've read. The artwork is very unique, stylized, and detailed - you can see laces on Batman's boots, and the costume bunches and wrinkles in places. It's also pretty clear from the ending that it takes place outside continuity.

Our local comic book shop is getting rid of all their back issues, and right now they have all of them marked down to fifty cents. I picked up an assload of books the other day.

One of the story lines I picked up was Batman Legends of the Dark Knight issues 207-211. The story line is called Darker Than Death. Pretty decent stroy by Bruce Jones, but the art work by Ariel Olivetti is freakin' amazing. This is by far some of the best comic book art I've ever seen. I'm unfamilar with the artist, but damn, I need more of this. It's like a freakin' Koloa Bear crapped a rainbow in my brain!

Wow. That's awesome. When I first started collecting comics our local comic book store (Cosmic Monkey for any Portland Bats) was moving and had almost everything in the store down to 1/2 price. Well I had just gotten a new credit card and.......
But it was totally worth it.
