Don't forget the belt too. :wink

I think we're to assume they're in one of the drawers.

All this talk about the new movie (#3) and the ridiculous ideas of having it cast already...

I DO hope that Nolan continues it. I'm curious about the new Wayne Manor and the Bat Cave.

I wanna' see how THIS Bruce Wayne designs an access down there and a means to store his car/Tumbler/transportation and the vault for his suit and toys.

That's what I'm most interested in.

At least they didn't ask someone to do a kiddie friendly movie after 2 successful darker movies like they did after the Burton movies, Id still love to see a new Burton Batman.

Im looking forward to how they redo the batcave and suit displays in the new one, I just hope they change the suit.

Wow, I just got a chance to check this thread and all I can say is thank you echosix... a lot of great info. I have seen some of the stuff you posted, but some things I have not. I plan on starting this project soon with my father and doing a free standing unit as close to the screen used closet as possible. Like mentioned one of the things that has bothered me the most is the inaccurate wood stain on most of the fan made closets. you can tell that the screen used closet is not one solid color, but possible a color with maybe a wash over it or something of the sort. I would like to experiment to get a correct look.

I'm hoping they continue the increased flexibility and less armor approach that Nolan did in The Dark Knight and that they push the d30 type concept on the audience... Going even further towards the lines of a fabric style suit.

It makes sense, hen you think about it.

In Batman Begins, he already had the cave there, so he quickly put a WOODEN closet down there, to hold his already existing Batman suit, which was simply a painted black version of a tactical Nomex military armor.

THEN we see a newer design suit, where he gladly does away with the armor, for increased mobility. And of course the Cave is being rebuilt to his specifications.

I'm hoping and praying that the next film (that hopefully Nolan does as well and I can't believe I'm saying that :confused), shows a completed evolution of "Batman Begins", where he's wearing a suit that's best for him, driving a car that suits his needs and it's all stored in a cave & vault that meets it's surroundings of a modernized, fully updated and structurally sound Bat Cave. emoticon

Previously I hated Nolan's "realistic" approach. But we're seeing a pattern here. I hope I'm not wrong.

So, who's got good pictures of the front of this closet? :hey

Im all for the direction they went with the suit, I just hope they make it look a little better. Im sure it will grow on me with time but right now Im not loving it but back to topic.

About the color, I agree some of the closets look too new. A washed brown would probably give you a close color although it probably has a few different colors on it to show up on screen.

Im amazing no one has any on or off set pics of this considering there are photos of TDK's "vault" out already.

Yeah, kinda amazes me that nobody took more pics on set of the holding chamber for batmans armor... seems kinda like a big deal, but who knows. Maybe some pics will surface.

Hey Echo I sent you a PM for more info on the ring pulls!

I was asked to comment on this so here goes:
I agree with echosix, casting the latches is a good idea. If there is no stress on them, why spend the money? good call.
Instead put the money into good wood, or veneer. He's also right about the veneer being used most of the time. How it turns out construction wise, is a matter of how well you build it.
color: One thing to note is how you stain it, and photograph it. your choice of light bulbs, and exposure setting, and your RGB stuff on your camera has a lot to do with how the colors play out in picture. cheaper cameras have less of a choice of interpeting the RGB mixture. Higher qualitiy will get more of what the eye sees. It's a combo of all of it. i.e. My tumbler is black, but often when I take pictures, it ends up looking blueish.
Dimensions: Use the boots, your torso, and cowl to dictate the dims of everything surrounding those items. The torso you see in the Dullam-causey closet is a lot smaller than the second torso sculpt I did. Big reason I re-did that torso is cause foam latex shrinks about 5% of it's total mass which then took that torso down quite a bit. It's a huge chunk of foam, so when it shrinks, it really shrinks. So say you got a big torso from someone, and you use my dims. gona look off the mark. Remember foam shrinks, but urethane doesn't.
