Re: Batman Figure Sculpt UPDATED PG2
Thanks guys!
Rev, I'm using chavant nsp medium, which seems to be my favorite clay for now.
Still alot of work to do, but I'm pretty happy with it! :batman

Re: Batman Figure Sculpt NEW PIX PG3
I've only been able to work on this sporadically, and I've had this on the back-burner for awhile, but I got the urge to work on it again last week. I made some progress, so I though I'd show it off:
Still not getting in a big hurry, just having fun with it. Working at this scale is more challenging in some ways than cowls---one tiny bit of clay too much or too little can throw the whole thing off.
There's still quite a bit to do, but it's gettin' there! :batman

Re: Batman Figure Sculpt NEW PIX PG3
Your sculpt is amazing Tom (hope you don't mind me using your name) And I love Jim Lee's art but something about the cape in that frame always bothered me I think it's just too plain.

Re: Batman Figure Sculpt NEW PIX PG3
Thanks guys, I'm glad ya'll are likin' it!
Xach, I'm not quite sure what you mean by 'too plain', but I'm not planning to try to sculpt that cape (not sure how I'd do it anyway---my sculpting skills aren't there yet! :lol ) I'm planning on putting a latex cape on the finished piece, like the one shown on page 1. I'm going to experiment with embedding wires into the latex, so the cape could be shaped to look like it's billowing in the wind---if that doesn't work, I'll just stick with a big latex cape.
I appreciate the comments!
