Re: *Unveiled!* TDK Cowl Revolution 2 WIP. **UPDATE pg.11**

guys. thank you very much. i really don't know how to respond to your comments, they are too kind and too flattering. all i can say is thank you to each and everyone of you. im just doing the best i can and im glad that you guys approve.

right now the master is now under the mold.

I opted to use Rebound 25 for its 0% shrink factor and easy 1:1 mix ratio. but well see how it goes. ive run into a few issues with it as its a platinum cure and they are the most prone to inhibition. my only fear would be the inisde of the mold somehow will be tacky because of the primers/paints i opted to use. but i sure hope not. either way. tommorrow i should have the mother mold finished and be able to remove the whole mold. then my first attempt at urethane will follow. im making sure this mold is nice and thick as i don't want any distortion as i go about casting. that would suck.

Ill update again soon. until then. this is me right now... :cookoo

Re: distortion prevention...

Will you be using any plaster-type support casts to hold the platinum-cure silicone in proper proportions and position?

oh yes. most definitly. i didnt mean to make it sound like i would have not done a mother mold. i am actually going to make it from extra urethane resin i have here. thank you for asking and looking out for me though. i just need to run to a store to get some waterbased clay. my modeling clay doesnt want to stay put at all for creating the dividing wall.

Doh, so that's what a "mother mold" is. :geez

Cool.

Re: *Unveiled!* TDK Cowl Revolution 2 WIP. **UPDATE pg.11**

Hey Guys! huge update! my first urethane pull! (actually my second but the first was was a thin cleaning pull and sorta a test) but yeah. here are pictures of both it untrimmed and with the eyes and mouth trimmed out. i feel that it is a perfect thickness. and i was able to cast it very uniformly in three layers which is really good. no lumps or nasties to note on the inside. you will be able to spot a couple defects which the rebound silicone is to blame for. at small areas, the cure was inhibited, i think i know why now. but as for now, this is what it is. Oh. i will add pics of the mold too if anyone is curious what it looks like. The finish reflects perfectly what i intended on my resin master. This is definitely for the bigger head boys. (i haven't worn this one, but i tried on my cleaning pull, albeit it was very thin, im sure it wouldn't fit me even cast thicker like this one is without padding.

So. what do you guys think? i know its hard to tell not cut apart and without the v shape neck piece but that will be made really soon anyways. thank you for all your wonderful feedback. i have to clean house right now but i will be back to answer some questions if there are any.
