That reminds me of a Batman model I saw once.
Can't wait for the finished version.

Those ears will be a bit scary in the dark of night!

You'll get good reception.

Sheesh and I thought my 89 cowl ears were large!

Really cool concept and I'm excited to see how it turns out!

If you study the cartoon, the ears on the sculpt aren't far off:

I may have to get one of those....

That picture brings up a good point, Lewis-
The highlights being a dark blue would definitely add to the drawn look. Does anybody know if a few drops of blue urethane pigment added to black would give a blue shine when highlighted? anyone try it yet?

I recommend filling the ears with polyfoam, like Reevz does with his Wolverine cowl :up

looks cool bro. Im still tweeking up my TAS suit, i have it done just not perfect to my standards. Your sculpt id say looks great, but could be done differently to be more cartoonish. Things like that long jaw add to the look, but because of how thick you made the upper part of the cowl face it takes away from the look some. Also the ears seem a bit long. I would have made the nose a bit flatter looking and less pointed out like a real nose.

could you elaborate on this more? i'm not entirely sure what you mean. As far as i thought, i made the jaw more wide than long, and i'm not sure what you mean by flattening the nose. do you mean the sides? to angle them more? As far as the ears go they're supposed to be super long. SUPER long. in fact i could go longer.

Thanks for the polyfoam idea, Eden!

Re: WIP Long-eared Justice League Unlimited cowl

Okay,
I wasn't going to come out with this just yet, but I'm the guy he's sculpting it for. Please know that it's looking very much like I envisioned it, and he's committed to making sure the final master gets my seal of approval.

The JLU cowl is my favorite non-movie cowl, period. The concept I'm shooting for is a real-world translation of the JLU costume, not a 3-D representation. In other words, I don't want to look like a walking cartoon.

Therefore, some real-world changes had to be made. In the cartoon, no facial details can be seen on the cowl. I asked him to go with a "meaner Keaton" kind of face. If you look at the cowl from the side in the cartoon, the nose is rather pronounced, almost beak-like. And yeah, the ears are crazy tall, which is why I like the cowl so much.

Anyway, just wanted to clear the air about the purpose and intent of this cowl.
