Re: Painting Rubber Boots - VERY VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION - LAST POST
Also, are these high dollar boots or a pair of under $20 from a home improvement store. The reason I ask, this could make a difference in the effort you go through. If these are a pair of $100 boots, or even $40, you want to use the best method to not ruin them. But if they are $20 boots, you wear them a couple of times before they start peeling and cracking, you've got you money's worth. Grap another pair and start over.

Re: Painting Rubber Boots - VERY VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION - LAST POST
Cujo,
These boots cost about 60 bucks. I'm trying to go completely black (get rid of the grey details, white Dakota label - its rubber and is part of the mold of the boot -, and just have a generally better shade of black going on). If they were $20 mudders i'd have no problems with experimenting but I'd rather have these done well because I will be wearing these for a 3 day convention this summer.
I'm wondering if Krylon's clear sealer might stop cracking/flacking?
Any other ideas?
Jason.

Re: Painting Rubber Boots - VERY VERY IMPORTANT QUESTION - LAST POST
I must have missed this thread. Nu Life is indeed the nest stuff to use for this, imo. You can get it off of ebay, thats where I get mine as there are no stores that carry it in my area either. As for pLasti Dip, Ive used it on some rubber boots before and the only place that I had a problem with it peeling off at was the bottom sole. It stuck to the boot just fine.

Thanks bro. I thought it might work since it is meant for rubber and says on the can that it is flexible. I'm going to try that since I already have a can handy. May even seal with Krylon Acrylic Clear Coat just in case.
