But as you said, I value my ribs more than a few pokes in my arm :P Besides, Iøll be wearing this belt with my suit; that means I'll be wearing my gauntlets too, which should take many, if not all jabs from the rangs. I'll do a vid later on and upload it to youtube, how quick they are "off-takeable" :)nondisclosed_email@example.com (DkDingBat)Tue, 02 Jun 2009 07:55:31 +0000 Re: DIY Begins/TDK Belt Rang Holder Torturialhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2163647,from=rss#post2163647https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2163647,from=rss#post2163647beautiful work.So how fast can you get the batarang out of there? would it be risky to put it on the belt verticaly? I really love this belt, and its endless possibilities. It also suits me, cuz I'm... slightly smaller than a batman should be, so the size is perfect. Paul, as for the cape, I'm not too worried for the moment. Quote:batty999 wrote: Just don't get the cape caught in those sharp Batarang wings. Paul, I've been wondering about this too, but not only for the cape, but the suit as well. What is the best way to peacebind sharp rangs so they don't slice things when attached to a belt like the Begins. Since I don't have functional boxes (yet)... I will probably just end up using urethane rangs.nondisclosed_email@example.com (MannieBothans)Mon, 01 Jun 2009 09:38:09 +0000 Re: DIY Begins/TDK Belt Rang Holder Torturialhttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2163497,from=rss#post2163497https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2163497,from=rss#post2163497That is looking pretty cool... Well, not really, I just really wanted to make a rang holder, so I went into the workshop and whipped up a few things here and there, and here is my torturial on how to make a batarang holder pretty easily. Get your *superb* Rubbies belt! Now, get a Rang of your choice. I've gone with a set I got as a present from a friend. They can be picked up from ebay for.. Not too much :) Now, find a pouch, and place your rang on top, like so: Now, take a felt tip pen, or something else that can be whiped off easily afterwards, and outline the rang on the pouch: Now, find some thick nails. I went with these galvanized ones, as that was what I could find: Now you want to take you drill, and drill holes where you find it best. I unfortunitely drilled out the middle "button", but this should only be shaved down, so the rang is as close to the actual pouch as possible: Now that you have drilled the top holes, drill out the bottom ones. I insist you keep the rang on there, as you position the drill, so you basically get the best fit. Doing it according to the outline will mess it up, unless you're better than me, which is quite likely, lol. And another pic: Now, place the rang on top. Doesn't that just look good? Well, you haven't seen the best yet! You're now ready to whack those big-a** nails in there. I forgot, use a drill which has the same diameter as your nail. This will save you a lto of time trimming out the hole. When you're ready to put the nails through, and you try, but holy bugger batman! It won't go through! Simply trim a bit more! :) Once that's done, you can put the nails through, and it should look like this (NOTE: I had already cut off the end) Once they are through, and you have them positioned, just trim the nail. Use either a metal saw or a dremel for this. Once I had the nails where I wanted them, I filled up the back with resin, to make it heavier to the rediculously light belt, and to keep the nails in place. This can alternatively be switched out with a hot glue gun, which I'm fairly certain will do the job too! Now, for the finishing touch, either paint it, or don't, and, if you don't have anything fancy to keep it down, "borrow" a hair elastic band from you wife/girlfriend/mom and you'll get this, very handy for cons, if you wanna show off in a hurry! I hope you guys liked it :) Back to the workshop.nondisclosed_email@example.com (DkDingBat)Sun, 31 May 2009 17:05:25 +0000
