Silocone/Fiberglass Molds, a question:

Hey, I was looking on Smooth-on's website and was wondering what kind of silicone should I use to cast Urethane in? I'm really new to molding in general and don't know where to start when it comes to doing silicone molds. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I used their mold max stroke. Worked well. Just get some dye to tint it between coats. I used their plastipaste as well for the mold shell and I hated it. Alumilite has a mother mold material that seems like it would work better. Forgot what it is called. Or if you dont mind the weight then plaster could work for the jacket as well.

Thanks man. I've been looking at all of their silicones and that one did catch my eye. After reading the tech report on it, I think that's definitely the one I'll use. How much do you think I'd need to do a cowl? Their 1 gallon quantity isn't cheap, I was wondering how much would be best to get and the most economical as well?

As for the mother mold, would fiberglass from say, Home Depot work? I'm still not sure which way to go for that.
