Then used 2 part epoxy to glue the other side of the velcro to the cowl. The glue on the back of the velcro that comes on it isn't strong enough. nondisclosed_email@example.com (BatmanALL)Thu, 29 Oct 2009 18:53:16 +0000 Re: Industrial velcro questionshttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184335,from=rss#post2184335https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184335,from=rss#post2184335I just attached some industrial Velcro without adhesive to a hard urethane gauntlet using super glue. That Velcro isn't going anywhere.nondisclosed_email@example.com (abiwankenobi)Wed, 28 Oct 2009 21:52:32 +0000 Re: Industrial velcro questionshttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184292,from=rss#post2184292https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184292,from=rss#post2184292Yep, I got mine at Home Depot as well. The backside on that stuff is REALLY sticky, although not on every type of material. But on most stuff it's super sticky. I've also sewn velcro to different things, so that might be something to look into as well if you need it to stay put. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Streeter1981)Wed, 28 Oct 2009 17:14:35 +0000 Re: Industrial velcro questionshttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184271,from=rss#post2184271https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184271,from=rss#post2184271Yeah,Home Depot and Lowe's both have a rack with various styles of velcro to choose from, some with adhesive, some without, small dots or squares,2'and 4'strips,1"-2" wide, etc. Personally,I always glue it even if it's self adhering, and for some things I sew it on,like my 89 and Returns boots. It is self-adhesive, but I've found that if you're putting it on latex or urethane (especially the latter), add some superglue and you'll get a much better "stick." More random tips from experience: It will tear pleather capes when trying to remove your cowl The more you plan to put on/take off the item, the more you will need a stronger hold It doesn't stick very well to fabric Buy the large box. If you tend to mess things up like I do, you'll need it. nondisclosed_email@example.com (Lrcrow)Wed, 28 Oct 2009 15:34:22 +0000 Re: Industrial velcro questionshttps://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184261,from=rss#post2184261https://bbrotherhoodofthebat.runboard.com/p2184261,from=rss#post2184261I bought mine from Home Depot, adhesive works great.
