TDK Masking question
Hi gents!, well the time is coming to upgrade my TDK suit with a new mesh hood from Brad and some new armor from Kris, here is my question, I will be lightly spraying the undersuit the correct mettalic color....the top portion will be easy to do since no armor will be attached to it yet....but the bottom half that contains all the leg armor is staying put...any thoughts on how to mask off the leg armor to not catch any of the spray from the paint...I assume I will use tape...any thoughts on what tape will adhere to latex foam that will stick well? thanks so much!!!!!!!!

Re: TDK Masking question
DON'T use tape that sticks very well!! It could tear the foam and ruin everything!
Btw, do you really have a foam latex tdk suit? I didn't know anyone was doing that. That's pretty cool. Anyway, use painter's tape, preferably the white stuff. You can get it at an art supply store. It works enough so that it will stick, but not so much that it will leave a residue or tear your foam. It's weaker than normal masking tape. Use newspaper cut to the shape of the armor to fill in th bulk of the space and then tape the edges, the same way that people mask off motorcycle tanks and cars to paint flames and stuff. Just be really careful because you only have one go at this. Good luck bro, hope it comes out perfect!

Re: TDK Masking question
Have you sealed your foam latex yet? Some people use Silicone spray.... now I recommend using blue painter's tape, and de-sticky-ing it with your fingers, hands first..... you can do i ton a piece of sheet plastic or glass as well. You need very little adhesive on the back of it, and be very careful when removing......
--- Warning- contents under pressure. Do not open without eye protection. Keep away from open flame. Refer to user manual for compatability with other products. Do not remove this tag under penalty of law!
