Workin on 89 boot armor (All done with new pics)

Using AlienFilms' WRITE UP on how to make them I gave it a shot wrapping them in fake leather instead of painting them, and I think it turned out pretty well.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make the bottom piece, lucky I have three months left to do it.

Yours turned out a lot better then mine did. Mine fell apart not long after I finished them then one of the pieces came unglued and disappeared on me. The Leather really makes it look good!

Nice job. Only thing I could suggest is that they would work better if they were just a tad wider. Real nice job though. Be proud. :up

Those look very nice. I agree with Ed, maybe a little wider, but wow, those look damn good.

How do you get the 3-d effect?
I´m always wondering about this technique.

3-d effect? I'm not sure what you are referring to bud?

sorry- I mean: How have you attached the pleather to the three upper strips so closely?(there is no seam line)
Is it much more difficult to do this with real leather?

Well the pleather has a little stretch to it, so I just ran a bead of glue on each side of the strips and it contoured nicely
