Shower Curtain Cape
Now that I have the shower curtains, I need to make a cape
I found a picture of the Hot Toys Dark Knight cape, and thought I would try something like that.
Basically, I would just have to cut the shape onto one curtain, then copy it on the next and sew it up the middle (like Shabaaz mentioned). Before I start cutting curtains up, What do you think?
Here's one half...
Two halves joined...

Re: Cape Pattern Idea
I like it, but I'd bring the middle of the cape to a point for the "bat tail" effect.

Re: Cape Pattern Idea
I think I might do that. Good idea, and thanks for the input. :)

Re: Cape Pattern Idea
Here's a look at the material. As Shabaaz mentioned, it's like faux suede on the outside, and satin on the inner aspect.
I've outlined the basic shape with string. The 'points' of the scallops wil be more defined when I draw the shape onto the material.

Re: Cape Pattern Idea
It's kind of hard to see, but I've drawn the pattern onto the material with white pencil crayon. I know it's not perfect. I'm hoping to get a seamstress to sew it together tomorrow. (my friend with the sewing machine is in Florida for 2 weeks). Feel free to comment or if you have any suggestions before I take some scissors to it, that would be awesome

Still need to cut out the neck-holes, and the other side... When I get back from the pool with the kids

That's looking pretty good. Be cool to see how it ends up looking on your outfit.

Great looking cape! And it's nice to know it will keep the rain off of you too! :rollin

Re: Cape Pattern Idea
Thanks. Got the shower curtain idea from shabaaz. It's really light-weight, and flows well, and yup, it won't get water-logged if it rains. Not sure of the pattern I've done, but we'll see. It's better than the cheap Rubies one I have. Anyway, It's at the seemstress as of this morning. I'll have it back on Wednesday and can post a pic then.
