I then glued the hard plastic mask inside the rubber cowl and wrapped it all in tape to hold it in place while the glue dried.

As the neck in the cowl is massive I've decided to trim the back area around the velcro closure. Next I'm going to take it to a seamstress to have a zip put in to replace the zip.

Dont' go to a seamstress. I ended up taking off the head and shortening the Zipper on my morph suit for free by myself... the zipper in the cowl is as easy as finding a zipper the correct length and some super glue.

Check out my thread for the finished suit using the same morph suit you got.

I second that. Did it to Rubies cowls in my "early days."

Coming out great. Oh I agree, I have that same cowl and I superglued the zipper in myself. Loctite super glue GEL.

Thanks for the advice, I decided to glue the zip in myself, I managed to get glue on the teath of the first zip I used so I had to start again, this time I applied a thin strip of masking tape over the teath of the zip while glueing it in. And I used a few clothes pegs to hold the zip in place while the glue dried.

Here's another one, to be honest the suit looks better in the dark from a distance if you know what i mean. The rubies cowl let it down really and I had't got round to cropping the tops of the boots and there's still a few other things that could be better.

I had a couple of smoke grenades which I used to make an entrance at the party, shame I didn't get any pictures of that.

the problem with the morph suit I wear is that it covers the hands which makes practical matters like donning the rest of the costume difficult. So I decided to make the gloves of the morph suit [sign in to see URL] in or sign up to see linked image content--

Batfan,

That has come out really well. Those Halloween pics are very cool indeed and the suit looks awesome on you. I personally think you did a great job on that cowl and it looks wonderful.

Nothing like wearing a batsuit for the first time.

I kept the fingers on the morph suit, removed the head, shortened zipper and added zipper in crotch. It turned out great. I could take a leak and use my iPhone with my gauntlet pulled off. The morph suit was thin enough to let the conduciveness of my fingers work on my iPhone.

Excellent work on that cowl. You did a great job modifying the cowl to make it work. emoticon And I think your suit looks great as well! emoticon emoticon

Suit turned out great. I agree the Rubies cowl is a BIG let down. I felt the same way having the same cowl. I am planning my upgrades now and the cowl is the first to go.

I bought a bat symbol projector torch online and decided to make a pouch for it on my utility belt out of a marker pen and a scrap of yellow leather. I like the look of it so much I might buy a laser pen of a similar size to sit on the other side of the belt buckle.

What kind of rubber are the ears? I have my suspicions. I like to ask about this because I need rubber myself that is hard to tear.

Hi leading edge design, are you referring to the ears of the cowl, if so they're not rubber? I cut up a hard plastic rubies mask and inserted the ears inside the cowl ears, then used expanding foam to fill them out. I hope this answers your question?

Hi all, I've been working on upgrading the utility belt on my bat costume. I bought a roll of yellow pleather and a metre of yellow webbing with which to make new pouches. I bought a bobba fett pouch off [sign in to see URL] to use as a template for my belt and made a card board [sign in to see URL] in or sign up to see linked image content--

Here's my first attempt at a pouch, I'm not entirely happy with it, so I may alter the design slightly.

They're thin leather gloves and have a little stretch to them. The listing title is women's long genuine leather
opera gloves black, they ship world wide for free which is a bonus.

It's a tricky subject to discuss but basically I wasn't happy wi--Log in or sign up to see linked image content--th the look of the lycra swimming trunks I was wearing and after alot of searching on ebay I found these sold by trevalan. They are shiny like the rest of the black items of my costume so they match much better, and I've found they're less inclined to slip.
