A bunch of replica pieces here but some interesting stuff too.
That's an 89 cowl if I'm not mistaken.
Also the cape is the version where rods can be inserted into the seams for the ribbed effect that I love in specific shots. I've been itching to see more info on this cape eventually pop up. I just wish there were more photos. Grrr...

Guys, help me out here.
Does the boot armor seem authentic?
Second, if the cowl is an 89, then there's a good chance that the cape is as well...again, help here?
Not sure what to say about the gloves...but in any case I'm interested in this auction piece...and could use some of your help.
As for the chest and leg armor, I'm sure the Returns experts will chime in at some point to explain the faded look, or total lack there of black finish...and everything else regarding its authenticity.
So what exactly are we looking at here? Is this the real thing?

Here's what the description says:
"This screen used costume is the much-improved Batman Returns version, and includes the original latex cape replete with sleeves for the armature that made the scalloped cloak extend into a Batlike silhouette as the Dark Knight crashed through a skylight in one of the most spectacular entrances in movie history. The foam latex cowl is mounted on a stunning silicone head of Michael Keaton, made using his actual lifecast taken for the production in 1988, and fitted with prosthetics grade glass eyes. The Batbelt is from an original production mold, the boots are vintage Nike Air IIIs with added boot tops and leather boot armor, the replica gloves sport urethane wrist armor."
So at least the gloves & belt aren't originals.

The armor looks like it was raw foam which (if this is true) means it wasn't used...
I BELIEVE the cowl IS Returns but is the un-used Steve Wang sculpt... That could be part of the reason behind the squished look in the face.
The boot armor looks wierd... The descriptions says it's leather but the armor in Returns, I've been TOLD, is rubber... That and the fact that Returns shouldn't be Air Trainer IIIs but the Jordan VIs
Alot seems fishy here to me... At least, not properly explained... Profiles sold the '89 suit seen in the Peterson Museum and the description there doesn't seem to mesh 100% with what I was looking at either...

The armor looks more like the proto suit they made and wore around the Batshop. If its production made, it hasnt been sealed with the clear BJB stuff that the Returns suits were sprayed with for screen use. The whole thing is just fishy and doesn't not look good.
