I latexed mine today. Just my two cents for what its worth.I read on here that the latex wont soak through. Well idk Iif I did to heavy of a coat but it totally seeped through... no more blue pining for me...... had yo latex both sides. Use decent paint roller and stuff. My rig was junk and made the process 10 times harder. All in all im pretty pleased. Ill post pics tomorrow

Can't wait to see it. As for me, I'm going to have to wait. Mother nature is not cooperating with me today. Way too windy. :cussing

So since I was not able to do my cape today I went ahead and did my son's boots since the Preparer I ordered came early today. Note: If you are going to use Meltonian Nu Life color spray, you NEED to use this first.

I've tried it with and without and it does make a difference.

This may be a dumb question...

What's the advantage of latexing a cloth cape vs. making a cape out of latex?

Not exactly sure on that one. I know it's more goes into making an all latex one.

Well I got the first layer done. A few minor issues, nothing major. The wind decided it was going to come out and play when I got started. But I pushed ahead.

Half done.

Totally covered.
I'm thinking I don't have enough latex to cover the whole thing again so I will be adding where needed.

I wish I could say that I enjoyed this project. I didn't. Not sure how I feel about how it turned out. I wanted a more smooth texture. I got the 89 texture. Is that gonna look cool blue? :huh

As you can tell from my facial expression, not completely happy.

You still have your original blue cape, right, in case this doesn't work out?

Oh man. Your expression is so sad. Cheer up. Look at it this way. You learned a bunch from it right? I don't think it looks that bad. Is it only latexed? I mean are you putting some kind of paint or color on it it still? I think you shouldnt give up just yet. Follow through with the blue! emoticon
