Thanks Dave! I think Neil's kit may make mine look silly though... His does wrap all the way around him! LOL! Anyway, I do play lots of Rush and Dream Theater, so I need a large kit to get all of those sounds.
Anyway, here is kit number 2! It's a jellybean kit made up of an 18" GLX floor tom converted to a kick drum, an 8" masters tom, 10" export tom, 13" GLX tom, and a 13" brass shell piccolo snare. Stagg cymbals and a Gibraltar rack. I use this one for drum students and I love to knock around on it. Fun to play! Note the BAT emblem on the bass drum reso head!
AWESOME KIT!
Sorry I missed this post for a while.
'Gotta love the Bat emblem & the black!

Re: guitars and other things you play
Here's my new (12-23) birthday guitar.
Love the mahogany body & neck and rosewood fingerboard with jumbo frets.
Not quite as heavy as a Les Paul, as slightly thinner. Lots of Les Paul players prefer this guitar after they have used it for a day.
Very low action, very happy with this and playing a lot more daily now. :guitar
'First time I played with an
Earvana compensated nut
and I can really notice superb intonation anywhere on the neck and the guitar stays in tune a lot longer.
Go ahead and test drive an
ESP EC-1000 Deluxe Ltd and see what you think!! I've read a lot of raving reviews about it over the past few days.
This beast is for ROCK, make no mistake about it, the EMG humbuckers scream. But you can play clean and add to delay and reverb to make her humm along sweetly as well.
'Hope you guys have more to post about your gear! MERRY CHRISTMAS to all.

'Took another photo of my new beast this morning. I may not need another guitar...but then again, us guitar-slingers often EAT our words! 'Keep on playing!

Re: guitars and other things you play
I used to play a little acoustic guitar when I was a teenager but it's been over 3 decades. I tried picking it up again a few years ago but between the arthritis in my hands and the fact that I remember about none of it I gave up.

Re: guitars and other things you play
How come I've never noticed this thread before!?
Oh well... all of you have some amazing instruments and I appreciate everyone's knowledge to play. Dave, you have quite the collection, there. I really like your guitars.
I've been into guitar, singing, drums, keyboards and a little techno and bass.
I have a sunburst strat, cherry SG, Ibanez AR and GIO, Fender acoustic, and my favorite
'Knight' edition starcaster. I also have a TAMA kit with more Meinl cymbals than anyone would really use. All of it is powered with Peavey amps, speakers and board.
I don't have pic, unfortunately, but I love having to meet other musicians and instrument enthusiasts.
Keep on rocking, everyone :band

Re: guitars and other things you play
This is one of my guitars. I bought it on layaway when I was 13 years old and went in to visit my guitar every week for about a year until I made the last payment and took it home.
Cheers

Re: guitars and other things you play
I appreciate your comments, stories and photos, guys. It's a hobby that never ends for a lot of us, as you can always learn more...
Here's a shot of my guitar head, which shows the high tech Earvana nut.
Once again I highly recommend you test one of these at your local guitar store.
'Lowest action and the easiest neck to play, IMHO, which is one of the reasons I purchased it. 'Also recommend Rockbag cases, as the 3 handles, large compartments and generous padding make it extra sweet.
Keep on playin' ! :guitar

Re: guitars and other things you play
Yeah Dave, those LTD's are pretty sweet. I was playing regularly for a few months with a guitarist that had one of those. Very good tone and great action. I'll have to post a pic of my latest... I picked up a Heritage H-157, which is their version of the Les Paul Custom. LOVE IT! Sounds and plays great!
