TDK attaching shoulder bells to chest.

I've had my TDK costume for quite a while. The way Kris ships the armor, the shoulders are separate from the chest. For easier shipping purposes. Then, there is a Velcro strip on the shoulders ... connects underneath at the top of the chest plate. That works well, however, based on the close up pictures of the real suit ... is inaccurate. I'm just wondering if anyone has used the elastic cord system that apparently was used for the real suit with their TDK costume? I know it's been used and I know they were used for the movie. But I've never seen the details of how exactly they were used on the screen used suit. The Velcro works fine, but I feel like elastic cords being used would add extra holding power and help keep the shoulders up where they should be at all times.

Any ideas? Knowledge?

Tim, I'm going to be putting my suit on next week and I will take pictures of how I have my shoulders attached. You really shouldn't need the elastic cords I don't think. I'm not sure why they were even on the movie suit. If you think about it those cords are not strong enough to hold the weight of those shoulders, I guess they could aid in keeping the placement, but I don't bother with them. Maybe Brad could chime in here if he sees this.

Right. I mentioned connecting shoulders to you the other day. I have the Velcro where it should be & have kept the shoulder connected. You are right about that. I can't believe I always took them off. Even worse, I would put the chest on and then have a friend try to connect the shoulders once the chest was on me. Near impossible. :tired

I'm just really curious as to how the cords were used. It's my opinion that the cords were pretty tight, but obviously would stretch when Bale would move his arms in certain ways, giving him more freedom of movement. It may not be anymore effective than the Velcro, but I really would like to see how it was really connected. I've searched for answers all over the internet, but have yet to see any pictures. The guy at Revolution Designs, whoever that is, told me how he used the cords to connect his suits. But it's hard to understand without seeing it. Hopefully he will send me some pictures on FB.

Here's some pics of how I attached mine.

I tried a few different methods, so used the loops on the shoulder bell. I drilled two holes through the top of the arm armor and tied two string elastics to the underside of the shoulder bells to existing loops. The elastic holds the bells down and in place, but still allows movement when you lift your arms. The loops I've attached the elastic too are a little long, but it still works ok.

I've glued so e webbing with Velcro on both sides to the inside of the shoulders on the chest. One side of the Velcro holds the bells and the other the arm armor.
Brad.

maybe I'm being simplistic, but I'm thinking strong double sided tape...Like the gorilla brand for instance. I'd like to avoid straps and elastics showing between armour parts.
