Re: Finally 100% satisfied on my Batcowl
Thanks Bros! This has been quite a journey to get this right. I used the Arkham Origins pep file for paper build, then did the basic fiberglass resin job. took forever to dry and harden in cooler weather. Then I used bondo body filler and sanded like crazy to shape it. (It looked like a skull at this stage)
The next stage was allot of rigorous painting, not liking it then sanding and painting again. I then used plastidip which looked like a mess and did not turn out the way I thought it would.
so then finally I found a roll of this fire proof leathery material that I was using to layer the armor on the suit.
I printed out the foam template for the arkham origins pep file and traced it on the material and used loads of superglue! Inside of the cowl is loaded with foam for comfort and its nice n snug!

Great job, so this is more like a helmet, very cool, like an armored cowl!

Re: Finally 100% satisfied on my Batcowl
yes very helmet like for sure! The mandible piece acts like that of a chin strap on a helmet. I had to cut out some foamies to glue inside the sides of the jaw area to close up the gap between that and the cheekbones. :batman ....ill ad some pics in a sec

Re: Finally 100% satisfied on my Batcowl
Here's a close up of the material that was used.
Added some mesh screen with velcro for the white eye comic look. Can be removed if desired(ok visability)
Hope the pictures help to give ideas.
