Bored out the barrel openings in my Grapple Gun so the darts can be inserted.

And I finally got around to finishing the Batarang carrier. Attaches to the belt magnetically like all the other accessories.

Not entirely sure where my Joker project ends up. I don't think a fully dressed mannequin is likely, but I'm enjoying putting a few things together here and there.

Image

Bozo mask from Kevin
Original Tabio socks
Magnoli necktie
Full replica deck from the RPF
OTF knife (not quite accurate, has serrations)
Magnoli gloves

Image

Columbia blue bag and just recently got the grenades to pack it with. I'll need to build the grenade rack to hold them. I'm modeling everything after the Hot Toys version.

Still not a fan of that whole franchise but what you're doing here is astonishing and shows a real dedication to this whole craft. I applaud you.

Update!

I decided my suit really needed a Bale face for the cowl. So I ordered a casting from Haunted Studios and painted it black. It fits great, and really gives the whole thing a nice statue-esque appearance.

But then a few days later, I happened across an eBay find: the same Bale face cast expertly painted by FleshFace with the most realistic detail I have ever seen:

I wasted no time in getting some black eye makeup on this guy and trying it out in the cowl:

Couldn't be happier with the outcome. Everything comes together beautifully on the mannequin:

I still have not yet gathered up the courage to punch the holes in the suit for the cape clips, but I think soon. The cowl rings are on and I'm pretty sure of the positioning.

Long time, no update.

Got a few more goodies: some "original" Mini-Mines:

They aren't screen-used, but they were made by the same person who made the originals, but after the movie. They are an incredibly clean resin cast with spun aluminum trigger pins.

That suit is fantastic! The begins suit is the best in the Nolan trilogy in my opinion. That is really a museums piece and its amazing to see it come together! Thanks for posting here, and congratulations for your persistence!

Some new Grapple Gun darts:

Image

This new set is made in bronzed and polished black steel, to replace the printed plastic ones shown earlier.

The 3D model was reverse engineered from a CAD screenshot posted on the RPF by the original prop maker. So this is about as accurate as you could possibly get, with some added realism. They fit perfectly down the barrel of my grapple, which is getting some upgrades at the moment.

Next step will be attaching a monofilament line to a couple of these.

Re: Batman Begins Batsuit Armoire & Wayne Enterprises Equipment Case

After watching so many videos from Adam Savage on Tested.com and his amazing builds of storage containers and cases for his props, particularly the one for his Captain America suit, I was inspired to update my equipment case.

So far I've always been using a Pelican 1700 rifle case with custom foam. The aesthetic is not far off from something we might find in the Nolan bat-verse, but honestly I've been really wishing I could have the actual cases as seen on screen.

After years of searching, I've concluded those are custom made, so I've decided to build one myself.

The main crate of the case I'm building out of poplar wood. Then I'll redesign the foam inserts, attach side latches, and the outer angled "block" pieces will be resin cast.

In the past couple of weeks I got the basic box finished, but I didn't really factor in just how large this thing would be in 3 dimensions. It's huge! 32.5" long, 19.5" wide, and almost 17" tall with lid.

I made it taller than the original probably is because I'm adding a second layer. The top foam will sit on a shelf that serves as the lid for the bottom layer. The belt and grapple and foam will all lift out, exposing my secondary props underneath it: Batarangs, Mini-Mines, Mangler, Boot Beacon, Tumbler Key, etc.

I threw tons of Plasti-Dip on it for a start, and it will get another few coats once the outer blocks are attach. Thanks to Leiter for help with those.

One thing I'm not sure of which orientation the Wayne Enterprises data plate should go?
