Evolution of my Batsuit

Just to sort of compare how far my suit has come.

My first suit. I bought a cheap zentai suit from China, cape from the same place, a Rubies Returns cowl, Gotham 100's and black 10 cartridge belt. I had to unstitch the bat it came with but and draw on one with a marker. Needless to say I wasn't satisfied with it, and honestly I can't believe I wore it in public. I just remember how much that cowl squeezed my head.

Next I tried a different, darker zentai suit, a cheap Cloony cowl made by Rubies and a better cape. I'd made the gauntlets from a pair of shin guards but I had no idea how bad they looked until the photos came back. I did fix the chest emblem with time with a foam, plasti dipped one that was attached with liquid stitch. I had the same boots but by that time they were starting to wear out.

Now we come to the most current version. My girlfriend, the adorable Catwoman in the photos with me made my gloves, cape and sewed the emblem to the chest. I honestly don't know what I'd do without her. The new suit is compression Eastbay top and bottoms. I painted the same belt I'd used previously gold and added a Begins style buckle, but the cowl I'd ordered from Dakotaluster over on Etsy really pulled the look together. Maybe one day I'll get a Reeves cowl but this one is perfect for now. I'm still using the Gotham 100 boots here but after this appearance at Dragon Con they had fallen apart so badly that I had to glue the soles back on in the food court.

I'm planning on adding 2 more panels to the cape once I've got the material for it as well as some new boots. I'm also planning to make the suit into more of a BTAS look with the simple change of the shirt and a yellow belt.

So what do you guys think of the suit so far?

It's been extremely quiet the last few days, but overall, quiet for a good while.

That's a killer cowl, by the way! It really suits the overall look, and Catwoman looks pretty good! Unless the ladies are big fans of the Bat as well, it almost seems like they have to join in with a cowl and suit of their own ... at least in my case :lol

Again, nice pics, brother! Thanks for sharing.

Looking great there sir! A fantastic evolution of your suits.

Also, how'd you end up painting the black belt? It looks spot on!

Cheers,
Aeric

Bat Kaos-

The belt was really just painted with gold spray paint. However I don't recommend this method because you'll end up getting gold flakes all over your gloves every time you touch the belt.

And thanks for the kind words guys. Glad theres finally some activity over here.

Great stuff Friend. A timeline like this is always fascinating. The Bat and the Cat make a very formidable team.
