a couple of 89 questions: 89 cape questions

Hello everyone!

I have one questions concerning this particular cape in building my life size

Here is the deal: I had a cape from someone and it was fantastic, but once i left it on the mannequin it came apart after two years and i was deeply devastated, the right shoulder completely ripped apart.

My question: is there anything i can do to prevent this? I'm just very afraid of building the life size and happening again. What kind of advice can the brothers give me

Thank you

Hey Bro,

Before I or anyone else here can address your concerns we would first need to know what the cape is made from. Is it latex? Pleather? sheetrock? (lol only kidding on sheetrock).
Once we know that we can provide pointers. emoticon

Sorry to hear about your situation! First of all we need to see photos of the damage to help you the best. You may have to decide how much effort and time you want to invest to repair it, because you can still buy another one! Out of the blue I would recommend to ask the original maker of the cape on how to repair it. Latex capes can be repaired easely on the backside by painting on layers of latex and apply pieces of textile to repair it.But if the latex is deteriorating (Getting hard and is breaking) then there is not much you can do, only to keep it away from sunlight and UV light, and keep it at a dry place not to cold and not to hot! If you post pictures we can check the damage and give you additional advice, thanks.
