A new build from one of my favorite other Nolan films: Inception

Over the past 18 months I've been building a replica PASIV (Portable Automated Somnacin IntraVenous) device briefcase from the film Inception. This is the "dream machine" everyone is hooked up to to share the dream space. In the shooting script, it's made clearer that Somnacin is the compound they infuse that lets them share dreams.

This build started with an eBay purchase of the correct briefcase -- the Zero Halliburton P5-SI, and took off from there. All told, it has 359 separate parts, mostly of them 3D printed or custom machined on CNC, plus a lot of other found and modified items. In all, it weighs almost 30 lbs. I had not found anyone else who successfully replicated the PASIV, so it was quite a lot to figure out along the way.

That looks pretty cool. Having not seen this film I don't know really what it's supposed to be but knowing your attention to detail I'm sure it is spot on.
