Looks sweet! My fave part is the open roof airscoop, you did a very nice job. Now go build me one in 1:1 scale. With foamies. :confused

Nice :up

But, after seeing one of these babies first hand, I have to point out that the hubcaps were silver and the turbine was black.

Meh, beauty is in the eye of the beholder...or is it beer-holder? I can never remember. :cheers

I agree with hunter bat.......make one in 1:1 scale emoticon

I personally think the gold looks good on it. I'm not an accuracy freak though.

I'm not an accuracy freak either. I went with the studio pictures that came on the model box, right or wrong. On that the hubcaps were a brassy color and the turbine was kind of a corroded silver.

I like it this way. :)

You have no idea how much I want a 1:1 scale! :bounce

Looks great.

Everything is gold, but black, meaning the wheels, turbine, side intakes, large exhaust and smaller exhausts. At first glance,it all appears black, but in certain light, all the gold comes out.
It's hard to describe and even harder to simulate, but it can be done. :wink
The gas caps are black/silver.
Same thing as the gold...they look black, but really aren't. More like a black chrome.

More than likely it was replica.
Even if it was real, which I doubt, the real car(s) were painted and certain things were changed in between 89 and Returns,so they wouldn't have been the original colors anyway.

Oh,Patrick,I wasn't correcting you or your work at all, btw. :wink
I truly think you've done an excellent job. Nice and clean.

I was only trying to point out a couple of misconceptions on the color scheme in general regarding the 89 car,'tis all.

Y'know,just so you know. :p

Re: a little somethin i finished this weekend...

Understood John, and thanks. :)

I wasn't 100% sure, so I went with what felt right. Which meant brassy hubcaps, coppery turbine, silvery(but darkened) side intakes and parts, and silver burner nozzle(which ended up having a cool oxidized effect after I sprayed the dullcote on it. :)

For not having built a model in several years I'm really pleased with this.
